I love how you addressed the fact that it takes time/effort/practice, raw talent, etc. for them to be able to harmonise so well. That is so true. I think you figured out by now that, while Jesy was in the group, Perrie would usually take the high harmony while Leigh-Anne and Jade would do the middle harmony/melody, since their voices cut through harmonies better than Perrie's and Jesy's do, and because their voices are more radio-friendly. But, sometimes, they switch it up. In How Ya Doin', Leigh took the low harmony while Jesy took the middle harmony when it's usually the other way around. In The End bridge, Jesy took the high harmony while Perrie and Jade did the low harmony and Leigh sang the melody/middle harmony.

Many people get mad at J because she starting solo project. I feel sad for her, like, she never say that she's not gonna sing again. She just quit the band bc she doesn't want to be compared and doesn't want to be a burden and that's it. And they keep saying J lying about her mental health just bc she want to start solo. But she seems so happy now so that's all mixers want.

People don’t rly have an issue with her going solo. People are confused because she didn’t say she hopes to return to music soon or anything. She left cryptic clues in a mental health statement whilst she said she didn’t know what she wanted to do next. People are also confused at the timing. Which I think is understandable. 6 months - a year, ok but to be teasing it all over her Instagram is disrespectful towards the girls after they just released confetti, a great album with so much potential they can’t promote. If she was just taking a step back and going solo in a few months time , I think people wouldn’t be as confused .

Yes it’s ridiculous. She never said she was leaving music but simply the pressures of being in a girl group. If people aren’t going to support her then they just need to keep their mouth shut on the subject. Real mixers will have her back.

They actually switch up the harmonies quite a bit...sometimes Leigh and Jesy will take the higher harmonies while Jade and Perrie do the lower. But they have gotten so well with blending the harmonies it can be difficult determining who's singing which

The ironic thing, in the first two or three weeks of their live X-Factor performances, is that the judges criticised them for not being able to harmonise. This was 12 months later when they returned to the show for a live performance as the previous winners - their growth was staggering then, but they have only gotten better and better.

She left cuz she was bullied by online trolls, tabloids, other celebs and even some of the LM team. Anyone would want away from bullies long before that, so the fact that she stayed for so long so that she didn't ruin the other girls careers is impressive....yet no one gives her the credit she deserves, they still just see her as an easy target.

Most of the high high harmonies are done by Perrie. In this competition except the end (this one was done by Jesy) they were all done by Perrie.

A lot of the clips where you mentioned Jade being on top was actually Perrie. Their default vocal arrangement is Perrie on top, Jesy at the bottom, and Leigh & Jade in the middle. But they switch it up all the time since they take turns singing melody. They do 4-part harmonies too but I think the reason why they sound best on 3-part is because Perrie and Jesy have thicker/prominent voices while Jade and Leigh have naturally thin sopranos so they have to sing in unison to correct the blend. Another reason is they don’t have a real alto so no one can go really low low.

I love how you're a new fan but appreciated Leigh-Anne even with the older songs because a lot of the fan base acted like she didn't exist or wasn't good enough for like 8 out of their 10 years. She has gotten even better and obviously slays for days now, but she was always good. She has spoken out about how sad and insecure it made her to be so ignored and the racism within the fan base and the music industry as a whole. And now in your reactions of their later work you talk about how confident she is. A QUEEN! I'm so proud of all of them but as a Black girl I'm especially proud of Leigh for continuing to show up and show out! All of the girls have been through so much and have their own stories and I just respect them so damn much,

Leigh was never ignored by the fans nor were the mixers ever racist towards her. She was insecure about being the only black girl in LM, but she's not the only woman of colour in the group and it's not fair for her insecurities to be put on the fans. Don't get me wrong, racism is unfortunately all too real, it's one of the two worst evils in the world, and it does exist in the music biz also, but Leigh has been projecting her own insecurities onto the fan base for a long time when the fans have loved her from the beginning. Jesy was the one who was bullied daily by hundreds, even thousands of online trolls, tabloids, paparazzi, other celebs and even some of the LM team. Jesy is the one who was mistreated to the point of severe body dysmorphia and depression to the point of suicide. Yes all the girls went thru things cuz everyone does, but Jesy is the one who was targeted by the fans and others, not Leigh.
