Ik i'm a bit bias cause i'm a directioner but if you get to know him (not personally obviously but read his biography and watch vids) he's a very nice guy and he really respects women. He did hurt Perrie and i'm not gonna downplay the situation but in 2015 he developed severe anxiety, an eating disorder, s*mon + his team controlled pretty much everything he did, and 1D was super overworked. He needed to make some changes in his life.
