When you think about it, Thin Man is the only one who knows what Mono went through. He's the only person in the world that understands the broken child. That is because Thin Man went through the same thing. He was dropped by Six. He was forced to help the signal tower. He knows everything Mono is going through, because he has felt that same pain a thousand times over. Mono and Thin Man are one and the same. The suffering they share will never go away.

I mean, that's what makes games like this so special. The story has no clear genesis nor end, so it's open to interpretation. But with the story available to us, we are able to draw our own conclusions, each with their own specialty. Besides, what good and meaning does a story or movie have if they are always good, happy endings? A cruel, grim ending adds to the imagination and gives true, painful meaning to the story... seeing as the characters are damned for eternity in fear, isolation, and horror. Think of it as this, lets make up a story of a very simple post-apocalyptic world and there was only a few people are alive, surviving and in fear. Some just happen to meet up with another and decided that it's best to work together. But in the entire story, we know nothing about the characters backgrounds, we can only make up their origin and their past struggles by their personality and actions. Very few details are giving about the situation they are in in the first place, like "what are you surviving from?" Or "Why did the world end and why does it look the way it does now?" That's the foundation of Little Nightmares, it vagueness the origins of their problems are never reveled, but are shown in their character. That's what makes this vague story so rich. Although I do hope they make more little nightmare games in the same storyline, I for one would like a good, or somewhat good ending. But at the meantime, the LN2 ending was beautifully made.

I’m pretty inclined to believe this theory. Figure that Thin Mono keeps trying to “fix” the paradox, but because life and paradoxes have a grudge against him there’s always a loophole for young Mono and Six to discover. Actually, what I don’t agree on is that every play-through of Little Nightmares II is a cycle of the paradox. I think each play-through is just a look at *one part* of the paradox, instead- if that makes any sense. Why? Cuz of what Thin Mono does. If young Mono and Thin Mono are the same person, then they have to share the same memories. Otherwise I doubt Thin Mono would go after his younger version. So why would he repeatedly do the exact same thing, knowing what his actions would do? Why would he scare younger Mono? And always kidnap Six? Young Mono knows that scaring himself and kidnapping Six doesn’t work. It ends up in betrayal. To avoid this, he’s _going_ to go about this differently. Maybe he tries to kidnap his younger self. Maybe he kills Six the first chance he gets. Whatever. I dunno. I’m sure every once in a while, one Thin Mono will do the same thing as another Thin Mono- especially if this paradox has been going on for a long time. But it’s definitely not a cycle of it we’re playing.

Thin man was surrounded by those eye things when he fell right? These eye things are probably using him to get more people as food for them so they probably hypnotize him. The eye tower or idk what it is controls people who has a lot of hate and grudges against others. When six was in the TV she looked like the others, her hands were very long and everything in her body was strangled or weird, that's the work of the tower. When six left mono in the tower mono was full of hate and so the tower changed him to "Thin man" and used him to get all the lives and flesh as food for those eye things. For thin man helping his younger self, when mono set him free he was going for both, thin man had to kill just one of the two or both to get out of the loop. Also when six went to hide under the table thin man knew where she was when he didn't see which door she went to. And also thin man is able to go through time, so he got his younger self to free him by opening the door. But because part of thin man's power was taken (because of six) his younger self would be stronger than him. When he got his chance to kill six or his younger self he of course took it. Thin man probably knew that if he left them mono would still go to the same path and be stuck in this loop. How do you think the first time they got stuck in this loop?

Fun detail: The case with Mono and the Thin Man is a neverending cycle. Mono has and always will be the Thin Man, hence his name being Mono, meaning One, Only, Single. Whereas Six's name is a number, indicating that this is the 6th cycle that Mono has become the Thin Man. The part where Mono enters the tv static and approaches the door at the end of the hallway, there's a number 6 faintly sketched on the door.

People need to understand that six started getting hungry after stealing half of Mono’s power and the reason the loop has not been broken is because older, weakened, mono is always beat by his younger self before the betrayal... The real culprit is not only Six, but the tower itself

Just thought I would provide some other possible explanations for the Thin Man's behaviour: I think it is possible that the Thin Man deliberatley set up the betrayal to ensure his own existence (like a predestination paradox). The Thin Man captured Six (possibly tortured/corrupted) and brought her to the tower so that Mono would go there. By doing so ensuring his very existence. Or if the tower or the eye creature was controlling the Thin Man all along they could have forced him to capture Six so that he would bring himself into existence, thus giving the eye a powerful being under its control. The tower could have then sent the Thin Man to be killed by Mono, as he may have been sent back in time AFTER doing whatever it was the tower wanted him to do (the tower does appear to be a somewhat conscious entity). Just pointing out that the Thin Man's aims may not have been to prevent the betrayal, for all we know he may have been trying to CAUSE Six to betray Mono.

I do not know, but Sasha did also identify him as the thin man, either way he would have turned into him as he grew, if he stayed with her, he would also grow and maybe kill her or get eaten, so to be honest it is also sort of a good thing she dropped him, but also isn't.

My theory: tall person is actually mono, but in the future. He accidentally travels back in time. I mean, that's what makes games like this so special. The story has no clear genesis nor end, so it's open to interpretation. But with the story available to us, we are able to draw our own conclusions, each with their own specialty. Besides, what good and meaning does a story or movie having if they are always good, happy ending? A cruel, grim ending adds to the imagination and give true, painful meaning to the story... seeing as the characters are damned for eternity in fear, isolation, and horror. Think of it as this, lets make up a story of a very simple post-apocalyptic world and there was only a few people are alive, surviving and in fear. Some just happen to meet up with another and decided that it's best to work together. But in the entire story, we know nothing about the characters backgrounds, we can only make up their origin and their past struggles by their personality and actions. Very few details are giving about the situation they are in in the first place, like "what are you surviving from?" Or "Why did the world end and why does it look the way it does now?" That's the foundation of Little Nightmares, it vagueness the origins of their problems are never reveled, but are shown in their character. That's what makes this vague story so rich. Although I do hope they make more little nightmare games in the same storyline, I for one would like a good, or somewhat good ending. But at the meantime, the LN2 ending was beautifully made.

Mono crying would actually be realistic. One of the developers said Mono had feelings for Six and that he is protective of her. And, in game time, the game probably takes course over a few days, maybe 1 level per day. So 5 days. Not very long but that was probably the only friend Mono had, which is why he valued Six so much. Everyone in the comment section is shitting on Six, and while I agree it’s sad that she let go of Mono, I can relate to her trauma and I would do the same in that situation. I wanna talk about the story from her perspective for a bit :). Keep in mind she is canonically about 9 years old. Warning: Spoilers See the story through her perspective: the only person who has ever been kind to her was that kid in Very Little Nightmares, with that friendship ending in death and betrayal. The only emotion she ever grew up with was violence and sadness. She finds out her friend (Mono) is actually her kidnapper (Thin Man). Even if she didn’t find out Mono was the Thin man, she watched her most prized possession be destroyed by Mono, the music box, which was the only thing helping her cope with the trauma. Now it may be hard to think she would kill him because of this, but again, she’s 9 years old. I can tell you as a nine year old I would handle someone breaking a prized possession wayyy differently than I would at my current age. Plus, she thought Mono abandoned her in the TV realm or whatever. She didn’t know that he was trying to save her, she probably assumed he was going to leave her to her own devices, just as her previous friend had. I don’t think she was deliberately betraying him, past experiences took hold of her emotions and she let go. Moral of the story: Six has major trust issues. Anyways, that’s my theory as to why. It might just be bc I kin her lol- Everyone here is justified for hating her but personally I relate to her so much and she’s a big comfort character and it makes me sad that everyone hates her because the way they portrayed her trauma and insanity really resonated with me ig- This is probably a stretch tho.
