For those playing on console, the trophy pops up when you are in the middle of the stairs, during the very last scene.. don't throw the controller at the tv if the trophy doesn't shows up right after beating the final boss 😅

this is the best because you don't include the glitches or anything. Thanks so much man! It's so nice to have such calm commentary as opposed to "there is no room for error, if you run into a wall just start over. I would like to add to this. You don't have to do the achievement in 1 sitting, you can exit to menu and continue One way to cheese it is after every chapter, after auto-save, quit to menu, then quit to ur ps dashboard, open settings, upload save game to usb or ps plus. everytime you die, quit, delete game save then download the backup. Do this after every chapter so you don't have to repeat the whole thing if u die.

This definitely falls into the 10/10 annoying 1/10 difficulty category of trophies. It's so easy but really random nonsense will get you grabbed or fall off a ledge nonstop.

I don't have perfect depth perception, but while playing this I have a lot of issues with the depth and character position of Six. The platform sections can be really lame because, depending on the tilt of the camera, if you are far to one side of the screen (i.e. the last section where you run and jump and swing across the lantern while being chased by the giants) you also have to correct for that angle. So running to the right isn't just holding right anymore, it is right and sliiightly upward. I fell off pipes, I ran into railings, and walls- It was annoying! I love Limbo and managed to get 0 deaths instead of 5 or less for the achievement and that game is just way more consistent and plays better. It's 2d though so that is all the difference. I think I'm just bad at isometric games ig.

Finally got this achievement. Advice if you think you're gonna die or get caught just pause and go to the main menu and start it over. Don't matter if you do it 100 times you'll still get the trophy.

Advice for the last hard part where you run across that table between the people that eat: jumping. I failed it several times when i was zigzaging then i tried bunny hopping across. The jumps got me across first try, with very little moving left and right. You do want to be rested before doing it because you'll need those ful stamina hops

Blows my mind how I can't wrap my head around the part with the people eating on the table, I always get a little too close to one of them and it just kills any desire to do this run. Awesome stuff, I had to use a save file for it unfortunately because I just couldn't get a clean pass through the table.

Thank you so much for this excellent guide!! For everyone wondering, you can backup your game at every point in the game, when the save symbol appears, not only at the chapter changes. For me it helped to backup on USB especially before the difficult parts in the game). Simply backup your save on USB at any point before the part you struggle and if you die, close the game, then delete the save from your ps-main-menu and copy the backup save back to your system and try again. Good luck to you all. I managed to achieve the trophy this way and with the help of this great guide 👍👍👍

Thank you for this full on, easy going, thorough guide. For anyone playing on PS4/5 - you can use cloud saves to scum save this run. Everyone I gained progress to an area that saved (little eyeball in lower right corner) I waited for the eyeball to disappear and then excited to menu and then closed the game. Uploaded to cloud, then reopened the game and resumed. Anytime I messed up or died I closed the game and downloaded the save.

I would just like to let everyone know trying to go for it that I had to restart from checkpoint twice. First time was in chapter 4 when the Maw coming out of the elevator didn’t chase after me so he didn’t knock down the tin needed to smash the mirror.. I didn’t want to see what was happening in case he was close and would grab me so I restarted and made sure he saw me before running to hide. Second time was missing the jump right at the end when all the Maws are chasing you on the tables etc... I was falling to my death but managed to quit and restart, also in chapter 4 (think my stamina was so low I couldent jump far enough) I still got the achievement so would like to recommend not hesitating to restart if you feel it’s necessary!

I’m going for the platinum right now and this is the last trophy. When you got 48 minutes, was that playthrough super rushed with no mistakes or were you able to go kinda slow? I’ve been retrying this trophy over and over so if I know there’s plenty of time for mistakes that lose time I think it will help calm my nerves

Hell yeah, I got it after only a couple hours of doing it, all thanks to you. The janitor fight especially, your tactic was a 100% fool proof method of doing it and I can't thank you enough. I only died once to it because I couldn't pull one of the bars out due to a poor joystick placement, but the very run after that was where I got to the end. And your words about mistakes being fine is especially good, because I made too many to count. An hour is more time that it sounds like, even if I got only a couple minutes to spare according to my own counts. But just like you, according to the game I only spent 47:04 on the run, when I counted 58:49. I have no idea where that much time could've have gone, but if the former is what counts then there indeed is a lot of leeway even in addition to the perceived hour. The hardest part of it is just using a controller, because you need to do some intricate moves throughout the entire game. And if your depth perception is off even by a little bit, that in addition just causes some serious issues. But because of all the little tactics like jumping and knowing what to do, any mistake was handled easily, because in the end, the only criteria is not to die and do it in under an hour. Anything else doesn't matter.

This was a real treat to watch. Very often I get so affected by these achievements and it's so easy to get upset when you keep dying in a run, but watching you go through it without any of the skips or glitches (none of the glitches ever work for me anyway), accompanied by your calm commentary, was really great. I had both LN1&2 but never got around playing them, with the 3rd coming out i had an itch to play them and 100% them, this trophy was a pain, great video though, for anyone trying i recomend a few tips, - research a few glitches to incorporate in your run, im not a pro speedrunner but any minor glitches can help out for and pay for any hiccups along the way. You can pause to stop the timer, and reset from last checkpoint if u are about to die, and resets the timer too. As long as when you pause and that option is still there when you get caught by like the light or leeches or something it wont count as a death, if its not there then it counts as a death. again great vid and GL for anyone going for this!

At 41:05 - I found that releasing the hook exactly when reaching the middle of the third column is the most optimal. That way Six isn't going to get stalled by landing on the floor for a couple of seconds. Instead, she will land on the third container (the one full of plates), and then you can jump diagonally ahead, gaining extra distance. Another best practice I discovered, is that after passing under the table, you can do 3 consecutive jumps to get to the platform faster. So you can have some extra time window to time your jump on the hook for the escape. Very sketchy part, took me a good amount of tries until I finally got through it and got the achievement. This is the hardest out of the 3 main risky parts (the table is the 2nd).

Hello! If you want Hard to the Core achievement you do not have to play the whole game without dying! You can use cloud saves to cheat death on Xbox! All you have to do play online, then when the game saves in the bottom right corner exit to main menu--> Then exit to home --> Exit the game completely! Now its saved to the cloud and whenever you die you'll continue from here! If you die press pause--> Exit to home. Don't exit the game otherwise it will save! Go manage game--> Erase local save file! Now load the game and from cloud download your save! Good Luck!

Great guide, followed it to the letter and got my trophy with no issues. SUPER TIP: After every auto-save (when the eye appears on the bottom right) you can exit to main menu, upload your save to cloud or USB (make sure auto-upload is disabled for this game) and just download the most recent save whenever you die. Using this method, you just have to replay from the last checkpoint making the whole run a breeze.

Surprisingly, the Janitor fight, as soon as you know what to do its quite easy, and the tabletop run, just memorize where the people are and run up and down to get to the end, and the kitchen escape is also pretty easy, just run and jump, and do a slide under the table to get there, but yeah, like he said, the game's pretty simple, do not get distracted at all, so yeah. Also for the kitchen part, when you have to get the key, you don't have to go to the meat grinder, wait till the cook goes to the table, then run out from under it, he'll hear you, but not see you, then he continues what he's doing, while he's doing this you can grab the key and make a dash for the door, saving probably an extra 10-15ish seconds.

This is such a good video, I was really thinking it wouldn't be possible to do it without glitches or skips. I haven't done the achievement yet, but getting there. I've found that I've succeeded more on the bit in The Lair, where you have to throw the monkey to distract the janitor and then climb the draws, when I skip throwing the second monkey and just go straight to climbing the drawers. He'll be distracted by the falling tin for a second anyway, and if you aim the first monkey well, you have plenty of time to get out of his reach. Idk if they changed something since this went up or if its me, but I kept getting caught if I threw the second monkey.

Thanks I got it (including the Hook skip, sinch I had to restart some checkpoints :D) But the hardest part is certainly not falling down somewhere and just die.... Took me 6 resets till I got the trophy and all attemps ended with me falling down somewhere and not being fast enough to push the start button :D

I had the chef glitch out once; he won't ever move from that spot and unless you actually hit him, he won't be able to get you. If he glitches, it's free.

You should be okay to pause the game but if you're in doubt you can just back out to the main menu and just hit continue when you want to carry on. I'm fairly confident that you can pause it when you need to though.

I've done the "Hard to the Core" achievement and pausing does stop the timer. I had to take breaks in between for either restroom or sweaty hands. Lol I managed on completing after my 12-15th speedrun.

I dont know what to do. I tried 2 runs using this and some speed run glitches to beat the game. I still dont got the trophy. I keep backing up the savegame every time the game saves to be safe. I keep using restart checkpoint too. Could there be an issue is you get grabbed and about to die the game saves, but youre still able to restart checkpoint? I wasted cxountless of hours trying to get this over the last 2 days. Any advice? I suck at speedruns, but I'm sure I got a good time even if I dont do things perfect. I do use restrt checkpoint in the beginning to skip the cutscene. Can this be an issue?

I thought i had the same issue as you regarding checkpoints. Then i checked trophy requirements again and realised it had to be 0 deaths💀. I will try again today with backup saves into usb. But i don't think it's the checkpoint problem. What platform do you play?
