Instead of watercolors as was used for most cartoons of the era, the background painters used colored pencils for this cartoon.

1:48: To those of you wondering why there’s a Pachinko Machine in an American cartoon, well it’s very simple; this is what pinball use to be, as there is no flippers to keep playing. Pinball Machines back then function similarly to Pachinko Machines today, being used for gambling. Nowadays, Pinball Machines have flippers, bumpers, rail slides and various additions to distance itself from the modern day pachinko machine.

Grew up with Looney tunes, Tom and Jerry,The Flintstones,The Jetsons,Felix the cat, Betty Boop and classic Mickey Mouse cartoons from the 1930's in the 90's. I love the humor in those old cartoons.

4:38- Reference to Al Pearce's radio character, "Elmer Blurt" the salesman (he'd knock on a door, and drawl, "I hope nobody's home, I hope-I hope-I hope").

So much fun watching this (and everything else) with you: from your intro to outro, every video! It's funny, I never was a big cartoon guy, and even moreso the Looney Tunes type stuff, but I like watching them with you with fresh eyes! Thanks, Inika!

Before he was called Elmer Fudd he is called Egghead and he appeared in some Looney Tunes cartoons
@robbiewalker283111 ай бұрын
No; actually this green suit wearing guy is in fact Elmer Fudd; the crew labeled him as Egghead’s brother, and the lobby cards would give the distinction between Elmer and Egghead by having the card say “Staring Elmer” if it’s not Egghead. In fact “A Feud There Was” is the first time Elmer Fudd’s name was addressed on-screen, when his motor scooter has a sign that reads “Elmer Fudd - Peacemaker”.

7:34- Movie patrons weren't always seated at the beginning of the evening's program. There were latecomers who'd arrive during the cartoon, newsreeel or other shorts before the feature film began.

This is EARLY Warner, back when Tex was just starting out, and Warner was using the cartoons to promote their studio song library, in this case, “Gee, But You’re Swell”. And no, that’s Egghead as the hero of the picture-He doesn’t become “Elmer Fudd” until Tex’s “A Feud There Was”, Elmer being a hillbilly name, and all. Check out Tex’s “Cinderella Meets a Fella” for Egghead in his prime.

Idk what people are talkin about. Its been confirmed that this is Elmers first true appearance. The model sheet for this short revealed his name is Elmer, Egghead's brother.

I hate the different audio on the intros for the rereleases, they should have kept the original audio. You can hear how the ending tune sounds completely different since it keeps the original
