Why wasn't he on the radio like every 5 minuts in the 80's. This bad put on the best show I have ever sceen (even better that Bruce).

Couldn't agree More all this great music while he also has an acting career an online radio station not to mention being heart and soul of Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band. The man dont get a fraction of the credit he deserves.

I Love no LOVE Little Steven not only because he's a damn great performer (saw him on the Freedom, no compromise tour and then later in 1989 in Germany. He blew my mind about what charisma on stage means and I have seen a bit. David Bowie seemed like a little twirp onstage compared to the magnificent dynamic Steve van Zandt exudes when he's onstage... I love him because he's probably the main reason I started trusting Americans aren't only politically dormant folks who go around bombing other nations for oil and own interests and leaving the world a wounded space. He is the reason why I started thinking politically and why I started feeling politically for minorities and started thinking about why I should care about folks far away from me in pain and under pressure. He convinced me it is important to have an active and relevant political point of view which embraces wider circles than the own nation or race. Actually I believe he started me on a conscious way of thinking which ultimately led me to embrace another faith/religion which seemed the logical consequence of the thoughts he had inspired in me. I thank the Almighty for having created this great energetic, charismatic man, for having given him the gift and talent of ROCK, of conscious thinking, openness and the power to reach folks like myself. I pride myself of having seen him twice live, wished I could have a talk to him and I thank him for all the energy and yet kindness and charisma he burned into my soul! I am not being poetic, in fact I am at work and quite quick to write the minimum of what I think and feel about Little Steven.

Saw him play in a small venue in Newcastle UK in 1982. It was an unbelievable show. One of the best gigs I ever saw. Out of this world. Just hard to believe that it was over 30 years ago now. :-)

I saw them in the summer of '84 at the Pier in NYC. Great time. I met Gary U.S. Bonds while buying a beer. Nice guy. talked to me and my girlfriend for a good while. The night before Springsteen kicked off his Born in the USA tour. took alot of balls for Stevie to go out on his own. Dam can't believe how much time has gone by,

Killer live version of Steve's tune from the severely undeappreciated "Men Without Women" album. This one always reminded me of the Stones' "Street Fighting Man" but with a harder edge. The pre-"Sopranos" Steve at his hard-rockin' best.
@Robert_Lawson Жыл бұрын
Although he doesn't do it during this clip, there are many instances in 1983 and 1984 where the beginning of "Under the Gun" has "Street Fighting Man" guitar chords.

I saw them in a smaller club in New Jersey back in 87 or 88. They did this song like the album version. It was great too. It works both ways. The way it is on the record fits a bar or club, this is arena rock. Stephen is so great.

I went to see Little Steven at Selhurst Park in 1984. Unfortunately, it was on the same bill as Chas n Dave, Grand Slam (Phil Lynotts new band) and headliners Status Quo. Unfortunately, because the Quo fans bottled Little Steven. Pity they did not bottle their own band for bringing a song out called 'margeurita time' around the same time ! And I seem to remember Michael Monroe & Nasty Suicide from Hanoi Rocks scurrying across the park at the end. Monroe appeared on Artists Against Apartied LP.

He ain't a draw in the States either. If he would keep his politics outta the mix, and stop tryin to "change the world", he might make some money. Go back to what he did in 1976 and 1977 w/ the Jukes, would be GREAT...
@Harry_PP0302 жыл бұрын
The world and the US should be glad that there are some americans (like him) who raise their voice, albeit a very small group. The Jukes are still great....

Nils is certainly a talented guitarist . Tom Morello I dislike . Steve is a capable guitarist , and when just him and Bruce play its MAGIC . Saw so many shows back in the 1970's . Steve has a very unique sound . His Stratocaster compliments Bruce's Tele like no other . Extremely talented guy , and Steve is a walking Rock n Roll encyclopedia to boot ! Saw him play at the shore in 1976 , what a show . NJ, USA
@Rtuin97 жыл бұрын
you can dislike tom morello indeed, but can't deny the guy is a great guitar player with an unique sound.
