Thanks for the video, Tim. I use a longer whip on my ATAS-120 and lose 70cm-6m but I get an easier tune on 40m and even can get 60m at a workable SWR. BTW…your QSO at 3:22 with the California ham doing bicycle mobile was Bud, designer of the Buddipole and father of Chris the who operates the company. He’s up most days and usually on the higher bands on bicycle.

I am really amazed with performance of this antenna, you were getting a lot of Dx and European stations with strong signals. Thank you for the QSO, 73 DE SV2TCB

Glad to hear a Chicago, IL QSO in there. I live in the CHI suburbs. Would love to meet you on the bands someday. A few questions: How are you mounting it? Maybe a Tri mag mount? what if any controller are you using? Any preference? And have you done any actual mobile monitoring or CQ rolling down the road? How would you compare it to the ATAS if you have used it. Rob/WA9RAD

You must have read my mind or I read yours. I just finished leaving another KZbinr a comment suggesting he add timestamps on his cut video of his QSOs along with a summary at the end - and low and behold I find this video of yours and you are doing exactly that! I tell you, the AI is getting really good (and a bit scary). Great videos so far (I’ve seen two of yours). I’ve subscribed to your channel.

Had one for several years, and it worked a treat! Really enjoyed it, particularly with an automatic tuning add-on.

Looks a lot of fun Tim. I used to do a lot of mobile operation using an ATAS 120 but I like the look of this Tarheel. I love watching your videos, thanks for taking the trouble to upload them. Best Wishes, Stu G7WAY

Hello Tim! I see you are using a toroid with maybe 9 turns of winding, close to the antenna feed point. My question is, if instead of the toroid with winding, can I place 5 ferrites along the coaxial cable near the antenna feed point? Thank you very much in advance for your response Best 73 de CS7BDO
@timg5tm9412 ай бұрын
You can try the ferrites but I’m not sure you’ll get as much choking impedance . Worth a try!

nice but 900€ antenna is expansive! Do you think there is a difference compared to ATAS120 or DIAMOND? They have very different prices but mechanically they are the same antenna!
@timg5tm9412 ай бұрын
@@iu1olr the difference is you can easily fit a longer whip to improve the efficiency but you cannot do that at all easily with the diamond or atas

It works well if you have deep pockets but most cannot afford or are not willing to pay for an antenna that is approaching the cost of a radio how about showing some cheaper alternatives great video though
