Suzanne Marin you completely have a right to your opinion, which is why I didn't respond to your original comment. And my response to OBSIDIAN was just that, a response to him/her; it had nothing to do with your comment. Seeing as I am also a human being, drawn to express my opinion, when someone comes here to say "no one wants to hear [it]," I will defend my right to have an opinion, as we all have that right. OBSIDIAN did not express an opinion; he/she came to say that I shouldn't express mine.

I’m 67 now but I distinctly remember my first crush at 17. My boyfriend. I loved so much, dumped for another girl. People question if you can be in love as a teenager! Hell yes, Man, you can, and it hurts. This song brings back those days and it’s so beautiful anyway.
@itisonlyme13 жыл бұрын
Of course you can be in love as a teenager! AND it can fucking hurts, like you say. I'm 62 now and I can also remember. I hope you are well.

I'm 19 now. and gone through kind of similar thing at 17... but I'm grateful for lessons and the time I waste... you can be in love at every age and it's a beautiful thing to feel even if it's not always happy ending and perfect. hope you're well... ❤

@theL0VERS3 жыл бұрын
I'm 36 I loved harder when I was a teenager than I do now. Sometimes you become jaded and everyday life gets in the way but when you're a teenager your whole being is consumed by the other person. When I got my heart broke as a teenager I thought I would die now not so much. My friend and I were talking about this the other day and she feels the same way. She said she can remember when she wanted every waking minute to be spent with her love when she was a teenager and wanted to know everything about them what their favorite color was favorite food and now she said she really doesn't have time or care enough to want to know someone on that level. I keep waiting for that wave of emotion to come back and it never does. If I could feel again like feel as strongly as I did as a teenager that would be great. But I know anytime I have my heart broke as an adult it's going to go away I'll get over it. I don't feel that tingling wave of emotions that I did as a kid. I know lots of people who feel the same way. Enjoy it because it might not always last. And I don't mean the relationship might not last I mean that you may never feel that strongly again

I think this song is just universal for all of us women as we age. I am 35 now going on 36. I spent my whole life skinny and healthy and the last few years I started gaining weight, health problems, dental issues. Every time I see a young carefree girl in her 20s I think "damn I miss those days". You nevef think age will catch you until you wake up with a teenager, never get carded anymore, take 6 different meds and vitamins daily and cant remember the last time you got hit on! Lol. I lost my fiancé of 5 years in December. I am not worried about a man. But he loved me no matter what I looked like and now suddenly I find myself feeling so insecure again, even running to the gas station. My girl crush is on youth. Once it is gone you just can't get it back no matter how many creams you use or how much you workout. Your body keeps changing and will never be as carefree as a young 20 year old "you".

I've been alone for so long now. 4 years ago I lost my husband of 34 years to cancer. I meet a man last year , well he has a woman who is 30 years his age younger living in his house. He is 61 years old. He says He loves me but yet he keeps her there. I hate to admit it but I've fallen in love with this man just the way he is. This song brings tears to my eyes. I miss my husband and want to start a new life with someone I love. I know it's going to be OK bit I know men aren't very nice to women these days. I wish I had that soul mate again. Thank you to all of you for the beautiful words that explain how some of us are feeling. And God hold every woman out there who is hurting and longing for thier soul mates to love them . @Glenn Piercey hello Gleen. I wish I could agree to this. Men aren't nice to us. I'm caring for a man I've been seeing for almost two years now. he was diagnosed with cancer this January. I knew he didn't need to be alone through this if nothing else to have a friend by his side. even now he tells me he loves me but continues to chase other women. he told me it isn't my business what he does snd that he will never give over his control to anyone else. he is now 62 years old . he calls a woman in her 30s baby and he needs a hug from her during this time. he calls me the 58 year old woman caring for him in his texts to her. so even now. I'm the one getting the mean end of this. so no . Men aren't kind or honest. all they want is a woman but no commitments. just another fool am I for loving this man. I'm going to help him through this but now I must face the truth and move on once it's over.

@@brendacauthen2384men will treat you based on what you will allow. When you have a deep wound from a loss sometimes your judgement gets skewed. You are trying to fill the void with something reminiscent of your past...that will never happen cause it's not the loved one that you lost. the lyrics of this song are simple and meaningful. She is clearly a heterosexual woman that loves a man so much that she wants to be like the woman he lusts after. how people can misinterpret this song and then start hating the band for writing a gay love song is beyond me. Even if this was a gay song, it shouldn't be hated.
