This is like a commercial version of the Hobo Stove I have used for years, made from a 2 pound coffee can and a few bits of hay bailing wire. Except the coffee can doesn't come in half for compact storage. Other than that the functionality is the same. The coffee can hobo stove I have now I've been using for over 20 years. I use mine at home too, just set over a burner on my stove, then put bread on top to make toast.
@rhino54197 жыл бұрын
And i'll bet yours didn't cost 87,46 us dollars

Becky: The tin can and wire stove is something you could leave at the camp site, because if someone stole it.. no big loss, just make another. If you want to get fancy pick up a can of high temperature spray paint, like you would paint a Bar-B-Que or car engine with. If you search youtube for "hobo stove" and "tramp stove" you will find quite a few different ideas for making your own.

+Girl Outdoors... Hey Becky.. Nice review. Looks like a great little stove. Some suggest it's over priced. well i think you just review what you want and what you have. Cost is an objective thing and either some will justify buying a product or others will justify not buying a product based on their personal ideology. And it's ok for them to express how they feel... it's what comments are for. You are doing a great service to everyone by presenting this stove. It allows for all to make a decision as to if they want one or they don't want one. They can give added suggestions to things they feel better. This gives others a chance to also view one another's ideas and opinions. And in the end everyone benefits from all comments, positive or negative. Keep just being you. I also find it funny that one person commenting suggested you are using plastic logs and it's all fake. It was the best laugh i had today. See you on the next video. Thanks for sharing Becky.

@flatbrokefrank64827 жыл бұрын
Yes its horses for courses as you well know at base camp you can get away with BBQ's and bigger stoves but if your summiting you have to go lightweight - particularly as you get older.
@rhino54197 жыл бұрын
Sorry sir i really didnt mean to be insulting it was just the contradiction of the cost of the stove and your pseudo that made me laugh. You must admit that to call something of that price a HOBO or tramp stove is a bit ridiculous. Merry Christmas.

Congratulations on over 3000 subscribers now! Your flying along. :0) It looks like a nice stove with a good chimney effect. :0) Is that a 32 oz or 64 oz bottle your using? I tend to use a klean kanteen 40 oz bottle with the smaller 700ml pathfinder cup that fits nicely on my Bushcraft Essentials pocket bushbox stove with my trangia when I go out. :0)
@GirlOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! It is a 32oz bottle, ah right my dad has that as well, didn't know the klean kanteen bottle fitted into the cup that's good because it holds more water. Thanks for sharing
@adrn25m7 жыл бұрын
Girl Outdoors thanks for the reply. :0) With the klean kanteen bottle it’s best to buy the additional cap that has a folding metal D ring inside the cap, so it lies totally flat, as that means you can also fit a small cup like the Tatonka folding handle cup available on the uk version of amazon for about £10 (similar to the more expensive GSI cup the Americans always use) that can fit on the top of the bottle as well as on the bottom of the bottle for extra functionality for the same space. I carry the klean kanteen 40 oz bottle inside the pathfinder cup with the pathfinder grill top stove over the pathfinder cup and then add the tatonka cup on top of the bottle and put the whole lot inside a plastic bag so it slides inside my Condor H2O pouch so I can pull the plastic bag to get everything out incredibly easily as without the plastic it is very difficult to get the cup and stove out the bottom, then to finish it off I put the pathfinder cup lid on the top section of the pouch so it all fits together perfectly with room in the front pouch for the fish mouth spreaders, spork, spare tinder or fuel for the grill top stove and any other small extras needed to cook with the kit. :0) I hope this gives you and other people a few ideas and more common items that can be easily bought an item at a time to make the complete kit as for a lot of people buying the whole proper pathfinder bottle kit in 1 go is more difficult financially than just buying a standard klean kanteen bottle 1 month and then something like the tatonka cup or the Stanley adventure cup kit the next month (that fits under the klean kanteen bottle as well as the tatonka cup also fits on the bottom of it) till they can afford to buy pathfinder kit. :0)

Another fine demonstration, very well-filmed, possibly by your father. You each are good with the camera. I just looked at your latest chat video. Your lead question was what FIVE items would your dad bring along. Naturally, any 'red-blooded' young out-doorsman would have included you...but, as a serious proposition, that question asking us to consider a several months' stay, could have been more appropriately phrased. Companionship IS important to being able to endure longer periods in a wild camp environment...but anything to do with shelter, fire, water and food HAS to take precedence in serious discussions. I DO take you seriously, so I hope you revisit this sort of chat with a wider perspective.
@GirlOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
Thank you, yeah we were covering basic things you would take, otherwise you would have consider more than 5 items if you including months of food supply.
