I've often found that the people who dislike it are those who only want them to make more of the same music. That defeats the whole point of why they're making this album the way it is. They want to make something new, not the same old cookie-cutter junk. I respect it and I think this is some of the best music (both musically and thoughtfully) they've even made.

Not in my case, this sounded like a scattered mess with odd transitions, but it grew on me.

Mainly the visuals and message but it did get stuck in my thoughts.

No worries. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

Bingo! You got the message of the song right away. And the reason the first part sounded unpleasant was because it was about being one with nature, but nature was in distress because of human ego was about to take over and ruin the world. The "more" and "build" parts were corporations wanting more and how they tell us they love us because we continue to buy their products so they can continue their pursuit of more. Only the pursuit was unchecked and the planet, nature, and many people, were destroyed in the wake of their pursuit until nothing was left and the earth was destroyed.

I think that people's mistake is to believe that the bands must do what fans want. Music is a lenguage, is personal, is subjective, and we should respect the artist's process. It's ok not to like it. But spreading hate on their social media accounts? Too much.

The song actually isn't all over the place like so many say if you actually listen to it and i mean really listen to it you realize that the song actually flows rather well

No, it’s not justified. I understand differing opinions and all but this is EXCELLENT. I’m very confused by the reaction to this.

I've heard it a further 3 times on the way to work, it definitely requires more than one listen. Still stand behind my comment about the intro. Once past that it's great.

Nobody had to grow on me. I started liking it but when this song dropped it put it into context and I love them both.

@@FilmThePoliceFTP This psychadelic Floydian direction they've taken really speaks to me, being a psychonaut myself. I felt exactly the same way about Nobody and then this song and Matt Shadows' interview detailing his 5meo-DMT experience w/ Syn really snapped it all into context and I'm STOKED for this album.

@@MadMan123654 woah what interview is that? I haven’t done psychedelics in over a decade, and had also quit smoking weed for about 8years or so, but recently started smoking every once in a while, and it’s so strong now to me that it’s mildly psychedelic depending on the strength and strain I guess, and I was that high when I first listened to we love you. Not saying that’s why I loved it, but it hits different when your mind is altered.

I think as a musical song, people won’t like this because it’s all over the place, however, just like the stuff from “The Stage”, this is more about the message behind the music and lyrics than just the noise of the guitar. If you separate it all out across different songs I’d guarantee no one would complain as much, but all of it mashed in one is causing the issue for people. It’s honestly really well put together because it’s so abrasive, but that’s the point. If you look into the fact that they explained a lot of it is existentialism based messaging, the fact it’s abrasive is because that’s the message conveyed by modern society and corporations as a whole, they say “We Love You” but, nothing ever satisfies the drive of the machine. This album the whole way through, in order, is going to be a very fun listen.

I was confused first time i heard it. Thought it was at least 2 songs that they put togethet to promote the Vegas thing. 😂 I actually dig it the more I listen to it. The video in VR was a lot of fun. I dont blame people for not liking it. I still dont understand the Nobody reactions though.

Thanks for the comment. I didn't realize it's in VR until I read another comment. I've now watched it on the computer and had a look around. Looks cool, I'm going to do it again in actual VR, it should be amazing. :)

Completely justified. Makes their most mediocre stuff from past seem like masterpieces in comparison. Heard several times to see reactions but not something id ever want to hear again. Both singles.

Just too much going on in the intro. The skipping in the vocals, the hectic drums...it just sounds like noise. After that I think the song is fun. I'm not going to trash the song or Avenged for trying new things because god knows we have enough bands that are still pumping out the same style of music as they did twenty years ago. I'm interested to see how this album is going to be. I didn't really like Hail To The King, The Stage was more pleasant to listen to but I didn't love it. Nothing wrong with evolving as artists I just think it's hard to compare when City of Evil, the White Album and Nightmare were just so goddamn good.
