Comparing "Premium" Silicone to Regular Ecoflex 20 - Plus Random Chat :)

In this video I do a comparison between two Andrea Arcello babies -- Maggie, who was poured in Andrea's new "premium" silicone and Olivia, who was poured in the regular Ecoflex 20. I show how the silicone moves and compare the features on these two babies. Also some random chat :)
Maggie is the Maggie sculpt by Andrea Arcello.
Olivia is the Emerie Mei sculpt by Andrea Arcello.
Both are full body silicone babies.

Oh my gosh, youtube has been flagging all of my videos too! Lol! It's ridiculous! I don't prefer the armatures either......I love the natural movement in Janika's arms and legs without any armature, so I think I will most of the time will go without an armature if given the choice, but also depending on the sculpt itself as I do think certain sculpts look better with armature if that makes sense. Both babies are precious! I love seeing their differences. I definitely see a difference in how the silicone looks with Maggie.......it just looks buttery soft in comparison! I think reborns are facinating, and I love and appreciate all the details, and everything that goes into marking them . I CAN'T waite to see what all the reborn artist come up with next , what do you think reborns will look like ten ,or fifteen years from now 🔮? I would have never thought when I was a little girl that any doll ,could be better than my cabbage patch, doll or so realistic who knows mabey in 15 years from now we will see even more facinatingly creative reborns that moving, and. Have sound ,mabey they will make eyes. That move around on their own. I think the soft sillacone faces will be able two move and make expressions .who knows. So now I hear that little Maggie is a “sold out addition!!” More ladies need to make these babies for us, there are not enough!! Rats!! She’s sold out! I was excited to feel her wonderful skin on my skin, so now I want to find her “second hand,” but exactly like the one you have and describe….what on Earth does a person do who wants to find a specific sculpture “second hand?” Is there a special place to go, waiting lists to get in, people to contact and keep in touch with?? I know NOTHING about this hobby, I stumbled upon the silicones quite by accident, but I am an artist, I’m a baby photographer as a profession, so imagine my excitement to find these artistic sculpture-dolls!!! I want one so bad!! I love love love little babies, and I’ve taken some award-winning portraits of babies, but these doll maker artists are WAY better artists than me!! Three dimensional…a baby, it can’t be easy to do, to make, there is a lot of attention to detail!! If it’s meant to be, God will bring a little baby sculpture to me, and I’ll be a happy giddy little girl, with all my pretty outfits….

I just put my deposit on two partial silicone babies this morning. So now of course I have to come to KZbin and watch all of the silicone videos I can lol I will be rooting my own babies because I'm a reborn artist and have rooted many vinyl babies. I have to admit I'm a bit scared to root my twins. I got them because in 2017 I sadly lost a set of boy girl twins and these babies are being made as my memorial babies for them. When I seen the sculpt they look so much like my husband and I that I broke down crying. Mine are being tinted a light tan color and will be custom made. But she asked me if I wanted eco 20 or eco 30 and I honestly didn't know how to answer. I told her I'd leave that to her and she said to go with the eco 30. Thank you for making this video because it seems I made the right decision. The twins will be my 2nd and 3rd silicone babies because I'm also being gifted a micro preemie that's 3/4 body. I have a feeling I'll be getting a full body baby in the future now lol

I am not sure what brand it is, but most people just call it the "super soft" silicone.

Yes, Olivia is heavier than Maggie but just by a little, not by too much, I don't think. I haven't weighed them but I think Olivia is 10 pounds and Maggie is 9? Not 100% sure though. :) Olivia is just a little bigger than Maggie but not my much.

Your girls are so sweet and lovely. The premium silicone would be such a dream to cuddle, but I hear what you mean by the armitures. From what you have said, they sound a little stiff. I’d probably opt out of those too, I’m not one for taking a lot of pictures as well. As always, awesome sauce video.

I have a regular full body silicone exoflex 20 reborn doll (Ivita) from China.. she is very sticky.. how can i fix this without damage? So i can remove hairs on her ( While rooting her hair, loose hairs stick on her body and face..)

You can apply some baby powder with a makeup brush... to remove hairs, that is tough... have you tried a lint roller?

The lower the number, the softer the silicone is. I personally love the super soft Eco 10 or 15 but some prefer Eco 20... it's all personal preference :)

I have only bought my silicone dolls from artists. The artists sculpt, then mold and pour and paint the dolls from start to finish. Some artists do sell blank kits, but you need to do your research. www.doll-fan.com is a good place to learn, or by joining silicone and reborn doll groups on Facebook. For reborns, I like www.bountifulbaby.com as a resource.

(Copying my previous answer for others' benefit :) Are you talking about a reborning class? I took my class at a doll show. The Rose Doll Show is in Utah and the International Doll and Teddy Show is in Florida. They are both once a year in the summertime. There are also online classes as well. It’s a good question. I don’t know that one is easier to care for than another but I think firmer silicone is easier to dress. It really does depend on the artist and how it’s matted too.
