As a parent who grew up in India but raised two girls in Singapore, the difference in safety for unaccompanied women in Singapore is unbelievable. Here, we had no worries (nor did any other parents we knew) in letting out 15 year old daughter take the bus and then walk home alone close to midnight after a weekend visit to a friend! There were only 4 murders here last year in a city of nearly six million, about 1/100the the murder rate of a major city such as New York. In India, that's unthinkable, and very, very dangerous.

Totally agree. Sometimes when I can’t sleep I’ll go for a walk at 11pm alone. In the dark. By myself. Headphones on and not a worry. I have never had anything ever happen to me in Singapore in my entire life. It’s the only place that feels ‘neutral’ to me. I can exist completely free as a woman. My whole soul relaxes there.

Phoebe, it’s been a while since I last commented on a video of yours, apologies. The thing I love about Singapore is despite its small size you can always find something new to do or another area to explore. The cable car to Sentosa is great, beautiful surrounding views & yes there are very expensive food restaurants in Singapore, that cost a fortune, but why would you want to go there, when you can go to a local hawker centre for yummy food that costs a fraction of the price?. Hey Phoebe . Totally agree with you about cost of eating out in Singapore, as it can be as cheap or expensive as your research and you ability to get out and about. Went to a Hawkers market with Singaporean friends last time I was there at Changi, and the food was fabulous and so affordable. Love Singapore, it’s a great destination 🇸🇬

Hahaha yess Hawker centre is ESSENTIAL and make sure you allow time to see the huge waterfall at Jewel (the mall at the airport before you check-in) it’s really cool

As far as I remember, SIN is only expensive food-wise considering the touristy-themes and everything, so do note that!! 😊 It’s only going to be ULTRA-expensive if you wanna buy a home or something like that!! 🏘️🧐
