oh my god! we share exactly the same story man!! you made me cry.. i was 9 - 10 years old and in hospital for one month when my dad brought me my first GB Advance SP with Pokemon ruby! it is somehow emotionally affecting that another kid in a place far from my hometown (Greece) has a similar story! 🥲 (sorry for my bad english)

When I was little, this song really struck a chord with me (pun intended) for whatever reason. I'd literally just turn on my GBA SP, hold it up to my ear and listen to this song on repeat with a burning in the pit of my stomach. I still cry every time I hear this wonderful piece of music. Music is such an amazing, mysterious thing. Crazy how just the right combination of frequencies can make you feel something so powerful out of nowhere. This is a great cover. Thank you for breathing new life into this beautiful song!

I know this is pretty much a repeat of most of the comments but this brings back most of my child hood,I used to love coming home to see my Pokémon,I tend to get emotionally invested in Pokémon games as if they’re real and they’re with me,so when I first played ruby I was really attached to my swampert and swellow,they were my buddies,I know it may sound strange but I struggled to make friends in primary school so Pokémon was an escape to a world where I could make many friends at Will,now with shield I have gotten close to a whole lot of new Pokémon,my closest being a quagsire,a Pokémon that’s been with me for both of my playthroughs of shield and hearing this makes me miss all of my ruby and sapphire Pokémon so much more,thank you for letting me remember,sorry if it was boring to read,I just wanted to share my memories with you all. Pokemon sapphire is the first pokemon game I've ever had. When I was going through several mental breakdown of a demon named school, I stumbled upon this song in some youtuber's end credits. I've been familiar with this. When I packed my bags, a pokeball in hand containing my new best friend mudkip, and wear on the running shoes my mom gives me as a kiss-goodbye... I... sobbed with nostalgia. This is a powerful piece of music with so much emotional floods. And you managed to cover impeccably. Thanks, for the memories. Let's go... Mudkip. Together.

Makes me all teary-eyed and nostalgic. Emerald was my first ever Pokemon game. My mom bought it for me as a random present. I was so excited, i ran over to my friends apartments and told them "i got a pokemon game, we can finally play together!!" Damien had Ruby and chose Torchic, Johnathan had Sapphire and chose Mudkip, and I had Emerald.. and naturally, I chose Treecko. Funny thing about it, it was all by chance. We freaked out about it when we discovered which starters we chose. Almost like it was meant to be. Always been under the impression that Emerald was the rarest of the three, cuz my friends were like "holy shit you got emerald?!" But... im not sure. Always felt like Ruby was the most common, Emerald being second, and Sapphire being the rarest.
