This whole situation is a prime example of everything that's wrong with today's cancel culture. You are guilty until proven innocent and even if you are found clear of everything, you don't get a "I'm sorry" or "We should've talked to you first". It's just ignore it and act as nothing has happened. Anyone can turn on you even if they are your friends, I've learned from this whole thing who my True Friends are. I forgave Chrispy as I don't balme him for what happened, (yes he did make a video without checking facts) I'm more annoyed by the fact that just any random person can ruin someone else's life and everyone will just believe it without a second thought.

It's a shame that it can snowball into a situation like this. Yes pedophilia and sexuality deviancy is a horrible thing and you want to distance yourself from people who participate in that. But, to simply have an allegation come out these days, especially of a sensitive topic, is almost treated like a conviction. I hope the community can see this video and I hope that you can recover from this Tootsie.
@mylittledashie74192 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I agree with the way both yourself and Littleshy are linking this to "cancel culture". You seem to be implying that "guilty until proven innocent" is a *recent* problem in human societies and... it really isn't. We've been failing spectacularly at giving people the benefit of the doubt for forever, because it requires that breath afterwards. It requires not reacting immediately, and giving in to that gut instinct, but stepping back and really thinking about it. And that's honestly just difficult for people to do. Our brains aren't built to reward that kind of behaviour, they want to take the path of least resistance and just believe what they've been told. I could agree that, because of the heightened connectivity the internet has brought that the scale of the problem has increased, but I don't agree with framing this using a modern term, and therefore implying it's an issue that's somehow new. It makes it far too easy for people to just brush it off as being a problem with "the kids these days", rather than an issue that's always been with us.
@mariastephens18272 жыл бұрын
@@mylittledashie7419 I suppose I can see your viewpoint if we make the claim that cancel culture is our modern day's salem witch trials. It's true enough at this point. But I think while this isn't a new issue necessarily, this is a new format for the issue, and it's very dangerous. That's why it's held with such infamous regard by Littleshy and Tootsie, as it ought to be. This is different from meangirls rumors. It's a really serious issue that is almost too widespread and it has a necessity to be treated with a red alert and a swift reckoning of sharing the message of its erroneous ways because I think it's too easy these days, for whatever reason, for people to just not care and let it be, thinking it'll go away with time. It should be treated instead like one of those games where you set up defenses while the enemy comes at you in waves, increasing with more difficult combatants with every wave. You have to supplant more defenses and upgrade them and crack down on each combatant so that the stronger ones don't overwhelm you in the end and you end up losing.

Primitive people just can't have a life of their own: They only exist if they harass others for even being suspected of going against the planetary moral cult they serve. This is why at some point I loved speaking in favor of sensitive things just to piss society off: People who judge others and try to find enemies everywhere are one of the first reasons why this world is burning down. Some of the people they accuse, even ones for whom such accusations are in fact real, are usually far nicer than those haters... change my mind.

Moral of the story here : Don't immediately accept information given to you into account. There's always the potential that someone is impersonating/spreading false information that can harm the people their going after. While I love the internet, it certainly isn't the safest place. I am very glad Chrispy was very understanding that he was very wrong. And I'm glad we were able to help our friend Tootsie, he is a very great guy and he did not deserve any of this drama.

Other moral of the story is to keep one's nose out of other people's business and stop pushing your values onto others as if they're universal and everyone is somehow supposed to care: Not everybody wants to serve the high moral cult that is the mainstream and dance in its paranoia show. This overblown "think of the children" garbage stopped being fashionable since the 90's; People are complex and have their own lives and as long as they're all happy I don't give a damn especially about something as silly as what someone did with a plushie in a bathroom. Some people need to make the leap and step out of their cave for once, frankly we're getting sick of the world being a constant dumpster fire because of their behavior.

I'm also a friend of Chrispy's, and when his video about Tootsie came out I didn't want to believe anything truly evil happened at that convention. I didn't know what to think, but I was so glad to see it was cleared up and a misunderstanding in the end after watching Tootsie's and your content all these years. That being said, it's also terrifying what a few online bullies can do today. The Twitter dms look so scarily close to legit, that's the thing that made me reluctantly start to believe the hoax at first. I mightn't be close to you or Tootsie, and I mightn't have exactly yelled publicly about my conclusion calling him names, but I apologize for thinking it might've been true especially before Tootsie came out and said anything. I sure was hoping he would make a response that would debunk it and say it wasn't true, and in the end it was Chrispy who did that, and I was glad for it. But yeah this is frightening. Even today I see drama on Twitter and don't know what to make of it as an outsider. It's happened to some of my friends before, and maybe it'll happen to me someday as a growing creator. All it takes is someone who decides not to like you and sly editing. Chrispy and Tootsie getting along is really nice to see and I at least know Chrispy appreciates it with his whole heart. If anything there's lessons in this for not only everyone involved directly, but also anyone who saw the video and took a stance. Also, Tootsie is so lucky to have great friends who stayed by his side instead of disowning him when the video went out. You guys could've left him for dead there, but it's admirable to see you stayed with him and helped him figure out the misunderstanding it was. True friendship at its core. Edit: I'm also a victim of real pedophilia and abuse, and it's gross to see someone wanted to make false claims against an innocent man behind the mask of someone who went through genuine suffering like many out there.

You know, I didn't really follow any of the issues with Tootsie. However I did see the apology video from Crispy. It's great to see genuine people own up to their mistakes and try to make wrongs into right. I was really enjoying his series about the dark aspect of then fandom. But to see him step back and say I need to rethink what I'm doing says something about his character. I think that's a good takeaway message from the situation that I can see. Looking forward to see what this video can tell about what actually happened, because I honestly don't really know. I'm sorry what happened to you Tootsie, but I hope things can move on in the right direction from here. And I hope this video is one of those steps.

The one thing you must NEVER EVER do is accuse someone of pedophilia without absolute evidence. Because it is the singular crime where the accusation is the same as a judge's guilty verdict. I've seen too many stories of people comitting suicide from the accusation alone. And so because of that I was able to talk down someone else that was considering it after they got falsely accused. We all know better by now, that saying "sorry I was wrong" is never ever enough to make up for what you've done. False pedo claims will hurt someone forever. And as if that wasnt bad enough, it also makes people stop trusting such claims in future, which means it can protect actual pedos. The amount of times I've had to look into and debunk to my friends, the stories they'd spread after watching a "well researched video" is too many times. And I saw it happen a bunch where someone would be an actual asshole, thief, criminal, and then get the pedo label thrown in by some rando who is abusing the fact that most wouldnt bother to check if it was true, because unpopular people dont get the benefit of the doubt. I'd say it is 9/10 times the case, that the claim is false. Maybe even more likely for people who are assholes. I never ever enjoy diving into these topics, and the drama and looking at the reciepts. It's always something that ruins my day. And after I find out someone is innocent, I can't even do anything about it. I dont have a platform to use where I could share this. Not that it matters. Because as I said already, the moment the accusation is made, it is too late. They are now guilty in the eyes of anyone that reads that. People don't need proof or evidence when it comes to pedo claims. There needs to be SEVERE legal punishments placed on people who make false claims. Because in reality, doing this is no different than telling someone to kill themself, and telling everyone they know, their friends, family, co-workers, to also all tell that person to kill themself. An act that would get you banned from KZbin and all social media instantly if done so literally. But it something that Twitter users thrive on doing and are never ever punished for. I am so relieved to know that Tootsie is alive and well, and was able to get through this okay. He is far stronger than most, and I am sure having such good friends was a big part of that. Thank you for speaking up about this, and hopefully being the reason that people in future give a bit more pause before believing anything they hear instantly.

I got a mid-roll ad for "Lolli". There's a business called Lolli. I didn't realize it was an ad at first, and thought Tootsie was being associated with lolli. Two witnesses are needed to forward an accusation, when people stop abiding by this principle you get things like this. The internet is odd though, people in a hurry don't think critically, liability protections for sites, and all sorts of things that are atypical for human interaction. Getting canceled doesn't have any real world consequence for most people. It's theoretically possible that the accuser just pretended to be your friend so as to not be identified. So that alone doesn't disprove the story. And Tootsie's videos make him out to live by himself with children's cartoons as companions and dakimakura, so he lends himself to this kind of accusation pretty well. On a side note, I was just canceled from Equestria Daily after using its comment section as my only real social life for three years. So I know how much it hurts to be canceled. I was making a political point that Pear and his Socialist friend Algernon didn't like, and they claimed to everyone else that they banned me for a question that I had asked. I was trying to get some sort of moral understanding with people with whom I disagreed. Keep in mind that joking that blue identifies as green in EQD's comment section gets people to respond that blue really IS green, so going over basic morality is needed to make a point with these contrarians. So I asked 'why don't we just make this law apply to these other people too?' (I was arguing a law was overly broad, and they were arguing that it was helpful as if that was a retort.) People then took a screenshot of the question, avoiding the comment above that gave some context to it, and started showing it to everyone I knew on there, And implied that I was suggesting this awful law instead of arguing against it. I'm ranting. Have a good day.

I may not have known Tootsie as well or as long as you have but when I first caught wind of this, I knew that there was some sort of malice behind it, even with all of the "evidence" presented before us. When my best friend told me what was going on I didn't care too much to look deeper into it other than the video chrispy posted at the time because I had a feeling that some type of troll was behind most of this in some way shape form or fashion and i even assured the friend who brought this to my attention that there may be some sort of malice behind this. It was at the moment when I saw that you messaged the server regarding the updates on the case and Tootsies innocence is where it was solidified that my suspicions were correct. As someone who has personally been through similar accusations in my lifetime multiple times, I know first hand how scary these types of things can be especially for someone as big as Tootsie and I applaud you for standing up for Tootsie. I am so glad that not only did all of this get resolved quickly but all of it was resolved in a way where no hatred was spread and everyone involved (except the "anonymous accuser" to my knowledge) has gained friendship and forgiveness. Moral of the story: friendship truly is magic!

I’m a friend of Chrispys and I stood beside him during this entire thing. The “victim” had a lot of evidence that seemed reliable. But then we found evidence that it was all a ruse. Chrispy then went into a depression of some sort and was filled with regret. Chrispy owned up to his mistake and I’m very proud of him. He’s a great person who was fed lies that seemed reliable. Even I thought they were true. When Chrispys apology video came out, I watched it and was truly touched at how sincere and well put it was. Better than any other idiotic KZbinrs apology videos tbh lmao. From this day forward I’ll help Chrispy in any way possible to make sure this kind of thing never happens again 👌🏻

I had a hard time believing Chrispy's apology. He has accused two of my friends of questionable things in the past which never added up. He also made fake evidence against some Minecraft KZbinrs back in 2018 and got caught out like he did in this video. I believe he made the evidence against Tootsie and used the "victim" as an escape for his failed plan of cancelling Tootsie. If Chrispy was tricked by this alleged "victim" then why has he not exposed them? And if someone sent him fake convincing evidence then wouldn't most of his videos be considered fake? He has made videos accusing many people of being so called "Filly Fiddlers". I don't know why everyone is forgiving Chrispy despite his history of trying to cancel people with fake evidence he makes on Photoshop

I got at hang out with tooties in the lobby in the morning before LS woke up he’s the one who confirmed it that LS did come down to Dallas for Harmony con so i could have a chance to say hello and hang out with him one last time since it was my last MLP con. I was at the plush pile even saw a few of the ones i gave away i was even the one asking the guy with the Gameboy camera in the HC22’ blog if he brought the GB printer with him. These days it’s just terrible how bad cancel culture is and how even the “love and tolerate” fandom could have people doing this to one another without any real proof and honestly LS it’s even scarier seeing how easy it is to fake something like this and how much people love to immediately judge someone without hearing their side of the story at least. This is why i left the fandom because of the drama in the fandom i no longer belonged to and hope you guys stay safe and have each other’s backs. I once did an Inspect Element to create some obviously fake EqD screenshots based on some bad fanfiction back in 2012, and someone asked if they were real. Kitboga is a scambaiting channel, and one of the tricks he shows scammers use is getting a victim to load up their bank page, blank the screen, then using Inspect Element to fake a "refund" that the victim needs to "pay back". He tends to "accidentally" refresh the page to annoy the scammer as that undoes any changes. Heck, I vaguely remember a cheat in an old Pokemon browser game that involved using ye olde Opera Dragonfly to edit webpages. Screenshotting or recording a page hasn't been solid evidence for at least a decade, which is partly why people use archive services.

Im aware im late to this. But i was involved with the TCAFF series (sound editing etc), Chrispy had some doubts about certian things but we stupidly went along with the video anyway. As far as we were aware we were just doing what we usually do, exposing preds in this fandom. I had some very angry (rightfully so) sounding messages from Littleshy after reaching out to them to get the contents of a comment under the tcaff video, i wasnt able to manage chrispy's youtube account at this point in time so i couldnt tell what the comment had said. I called chrispy crying because it all just kinda hit me about how badly we fucked up. Littleshy ended up inviting me to a group chat which had everyone in their group who was present at the event, we talked everything over and chrispy ended up deleting the video and im happy we all sorted it out between eachother. Take an allegation of abuse seriously, but do not jump to conclusions. Do a little research, and ask the question, "Could the evidence be fabricated". Never dismiss the possibility of truth, but give it a moment to think it over before forming an opinion, and never give in to peer pressure. People do get abused and reach out for help, but bad actors will lie about it to ruin someone's reputation. Always remember, you don't fully know who you can trust on the Internet. Also important to remember; there are impostors among us.

It's gotten to the point where if a creator I follow gets cancelled I just don't believe it unless it gets proven without a doubt. It's sad when it's so murky that a creator has to cut off every form of engagement just to get away from harassment spawned from accusations. I know people that would see that as 100% proof that the person is guilty of whatever crime it was... But for all we know that person being harassed with all these accusations turned off communications because they're having a mental breakdown from all the stress caused by the false accusations! We just don't know until something or someone comes forward with concrete evidence that says if the person is guilty or not!

As someone who doesn't actually follow but does look at Tootsie's Twitter, I first heard about this from Ribon-chan retweeting another tweet saying it was a false accusation and I was shocked Tootsie was being accused as if it was set in stone that he was guilty. Thankfully, as I was reading the replies, I found Crispy telling someone who'd replied in a way that proved they 100% believed the video was proof of Tootsie's guilt, that he'd made a huge mistake and taken the video down. That led to a heated thread reply from the person as if Crispy was trying to hide himself being a Fillyfiddler, to which many jumped onto that person for being an a hole for accusing Crispy just because he wasn't continuing with the idea of Tootsie being one. Edit: not sure if my memory was messing with me about Tootsie and m following each other on Twitter or if Twitter did one of those screw ups where it unfollows people's follows every now and then. Either is very possible

With ToonKritic there was strong evidence of his deeds and was confronted by the community before videos was done on the subject, what this guy did in his video was out of context vids and text with little evidence as will didnt talk to tootsie to get his side of the story.

This will be interesting to watch. Chrispy is a really cool guy. Yeah what he did was wrong but his apology and actions afterwards were sincere, unlike some apologoes i've seen from other people. Everyone makes mistakes and im so glad Chrispy is a good person and did like even better than the best he could do to correct the situation. I'm proud to say we both follow each other on Twitter

I really hate cancel culture I like tootsie but really this is why you need proof for anything
@sleipnirthe8th339 Жыл бұрын
Cancel culture can really be merciless. They just act so quickly and jump straight into conclusions when being instantly convinced from what is said by one person, without knowing the full context or details, it’s just ridiculous. So it’s always good to have trustful people who back up the once being attacked

I don't know what makes you think he's quitting the fandom? As far as I know he's still very much a part of it. However, completely unrelated to this issue, he is indeed going on hiatus from making videos soon to pursue a new career.

Cancel culture showed its ugly face way back with Derpy, on the early instances of its begginings and I hoped the fandom would've learnt with that instead of going along with it. Imo its NEVER good to follow such trend, as such totalitarian measures just hurts everyone and more often than not will come back to bite you with the smallest slip. Again, sad to see so many in the fandom blindly fall for that trap after Derpy almost got cancelled for the same troupe of "good guys" fighting the "good fight"

I don't have time to watch it at this very instant but my immediate reaction before watching the video is What do you mean "WHEN Cancel Culture Goes Too Far"? It always does, that's what Cancel Culture is, isn't it? Canceling people without evidence and before knowing any facts? Sucks that it happened to a friend of yours.

I also don’t feel like getting indulged in Brony drama as well Littleshy, especially if it involves sensitive topics such as rape and pedophilia. I never feel comfortable with discussing or thinking about those topics. Especially after I saw some drama about a guy named BrandonTheBronyPony who was proven to be guilty, I’ve decided that I’m done with indulging in it forever and that it hasn’t done me any good.

Christopher Patrick strikes back. Don’t be fooled by so called Chrispy. He had a bad reputation in the Mincecraft community in 2018. Guy creates fake evidence against KZbinrs to get attention to then apologize to make him look like the good guy. I see he now makes drama videos so I can guarantee he is faking them too. Guy has a bad rep on Reddit also.

This is another reason as to why the fad of ordinary people trying to hunt down predators and such more often than not ends up making the situation worse. I mean, does anyone remember the people that caught EDP445 and even though its blatantly obvious, he's still not actually been brought to justice? Same applies here, except it wasn't even the RIGHT person, it was someone completely undeserving of that ire Either way, as long as everything is cool now, then it's cool. And we can all keep chilling together :)

When I heard the accusations about Tootsie4Ever, I didn’t jump the gun but I kept it cool with him. After I heard that he was innocent, I then breathed. What the “victim” did was downright horrible, and at least they apologised for that in the comments of Chrispy’s video.
