This song subconsciously helped me get out of a narcissistic relationship. Every little thing I did for myself made me feel selfish. Every time I grew he made me feel selfish. So when we broke up and I had to find another place while still living in the same house I started blasting this song, even if at first I felt like a brat for even listening to my own impulses, this song helped me. And from there I manifested the best living place I could have ever wished for, while I'm typing this I'm still healing from a lot of narcissistic programming but at least my SELFISH ways got me into a better place. Whoever needs to read this. YES. BE SELFISH. GO GET THAT. WHATEVER IT IS! Especially when you've been selfless for too long. You know who you are babe.

I'm happy for you, people need to be carefull because it can happen to anyone with anyone. For most of my childhood and my life until a couple years ago, it was like this for me with my family even if it was involuntarily on their part, I'm still a young guy but those behaviors are really hard to leave behind and things really bottle up and you feel uncomfortable with yourself, you have to give yourself time to balance out your selfishness and selflessness, you'll get there💪🏾

This song helped me embrace my own well being and realize I was being gaslit by my now ex husband. I was the main income earner and had 90% of my parenting and house duties, but he called me selfish constantly for wanting to make time to exercise and meditate. I’ll never forget this past March when he said “oh god I can’t believe my 2 year old is singing about being savage” I said “no no, she’s saying selfish not savage. This is kind of my jam now- you called me selfish so many times I love what the word means to me now.” He did not like that. Been separated for 5 months now and loving every day of my new life 🙂. Here I sit 20lbs lighter in my new place, meditating and working out every damn day, got a recent promotion, and dating for the first time since college 13 years ago. Moms out there: be selfish, raise your vibration, and manifest the life you deserve.

I know this song is probably originally intended to speak about a woman's experience as she starts to stand up for herself more. But being a person from an Asian background shackled with a strong religious and familial values, just when I just need to stand up for my individual values more, this song also speaks to my soul. Bruh I can't sleep at night but I also don't wanna fight. Thanks for this cathartic moment.

Love! I threw my daughter a Alice in wonderland themed bday, and listened to stillness in wonderland the whole time. Made pink flamingo croquet mallets with googly eyes, painting roses I made out of coffee filters, and you would not believe how much bleeping food coloring it took to get my blessed flippin fondant roses red on her bleeping cupcakes. Anyway you helped me get through that, “I don’t want to be in this wonderland no more.”. Still freaking pinkish roses, freaking my neuroses (new roses l0l) , so sure not wanting to ever do a themed bday party ever again. “My roses better be red!” So selfish 👑
