@leonhardeuler6755 күн бұрын
You can use Whisper from OpenAI to automatically generate subtitles in the native language of the video and to translate those too. This will output SRT files which are what is needed for subtitling. That's somewhat tech-heavy though so it depends how much you want to get stuck in with that. Probably there are premium providers that can run that for you but I don't know of any or whether their costs are prohibitive. Big fan :)

El problema es que no genera ningún tipo de subtitulo. 😮

@@LittleSpanishFarmstead ATM! love it. Took me a while to decipher. That's probably as good an indication as any. That's the problem with rural lived experience - everyone has a different story. one of my YT friends carefully weighs her rations [no pesticide hay] to maintain healthy weight. And at some point cost becomes a consideration. I'll suggest use your best judgement and start weighing the hay, not the donkey. All the best! ✅

The old style of farming was to leave one field (bed) to fallow (rest) and use the other fields (beds) to grow things. Obviously if you plant one crop in a bed then usually it needs to be change the next time to something else therefore maintenance can happen to all beds but one each year is left fallow. In your case every three beds one is fallow. If you have 6 beds then two will be fallow etc. You may need to keep a record for your reference. Love what you are doing, you are one amazing woman. Watching you with baby strapped on your back - love it. Love the donkeys and yes they are a work animal and a wonderful pet, you are also saving the lives of donkeys. Good luck to you three plus the donkeys!!!🥰🥰

Don’t forget you have done so much work on the garden, hopefully it will be much easier to maintain rather than build new. Lazy manuring sounds like an excellent idea! And rotational to cut down the size of beds this year. Maybe you can just plant lots of lavender beds for a short term fix until you are ready to use more space. The donkeys have such lovely character. I agree that they are less nervous than horses, maybe they are more happy in themselves 😀

Thanks for the reassurance on the donkey’s getting on together, I was a little worried about Moses when he was being bullied, but alls well now. Their shelter looks great, well done. I think your idea for the garden Harriet is a really good one, keeping it smaller and allowing time for re-fertilising will only be a benefit not only for you to manage but the crops too. Love the idea of more trees, I’m a tree lover lol. I love seeing how relaxed Santi is when you have him on your back x

The next month is a good time to top up the perennials with a layer compost. Chicken manure needs more time to become less "hot" so adding it to the compost in a second bin should give you the heat for better compost. You could make a liquid fertilizer by running water through some compost, then return the compost to the pile. I'm not sure if your wormery is going, but that's what I use for liquid fertilizer, 10 parts water to 1 part compost. You definitely have enough "greens" to start another compost, dried plants, etc could be your "browns". I add roughly half an inch of compost to the garden in autumn, let it be "processed" by earthworms ". I prefer to keep my garden minimal mostly due to weather, it rains a lot here. The donkeys are going to acclimatize fairly quickly by the look of it. Please be careful not to overload the work done daily, you all need to have some mellow times..

I love your channel and your donkeys. I used to have a horse and the mares always kept the geldings in check. They are really the bosses haha. It made me cuckle seeing your donkeys doing that. If they end up continually bickering, then it's only an excuse to get another male donkey so you have neat pairs with each set in different fields, or divide the large field. Not that I would ever encourage more animals to live in your little slice of paradise 🙃 (Please do it haha). I love donkeys too ❤ For your fruit/veg garden, research the perennial fruit/veg that grows well in your area and build your beds on increasing the supply of those things. It will also help the soil structure and retention of water (by keeping the ground covered with foliage rather than bare earth - it seems like it would do the opposite, but it doesn't). Then keep some small beds clear for annuals. If you have cardboard or any kind of cover that blocks light, you could cover the spare beds for now and just top them up with compost/manure as and when you have some ready to spare and you have the time. It will look more neater and tended, and you can forget about them for awhile. Those beds will then be well prepared for you to grow/plant straight into come Spring or whenever.. Think of it like putting your little allotment to rest for Winter. Wonderful as always!

Have you tried no dig gardening? Charles Dowding, not sure if I have the last name right. He is in England and he grows all year. I am in Canada and have been doing no dig for a few years now. Way easier, just put compost on the beds and plant. Basically what you're doing with the donkey manure, just don't dig it in. Much better for the microbes. Does comfery grow there? It's a great green fertilizer, just chop and drop.
@LittleSpanishFarmstead4 күн бұрын
Yeah I don’t dig it in if I’m gonna leave it for a long time. I just have to break the soil a bit if I want to plant right now and it hasn’t had the long slow compost method. I don’t have enough finished compost to leave a super thick layer on top to plant into so the only option is to loosen the soil this time, but hopefully not any more going forward!
