I have been buying new Dodge and Chrysler vehicles since 1982 From Dodge Omni, to Chrysler Le Baron coupe, Aries wagon, Dodge Journey, 2 Durango,s 2 Ram trucks.did lots of Travel trailer towing. The only problem I had was a 2010 Ram 4x4 had the trans go out, it was under warranty and the part was a $35 sensor part to fix it under warranty. My brother has been buying Dodge SINCE 1980 WITH NO MAJOR PROBLEMS.

Car & Driver recently tested a '17MY 3.6L AWD at normal elevation and they got 7.4s 0-60 and 15.7 quarter mile. They also tested the lighter GC with the same drivetrain and they got 7.1s 0-60. The 16 & 17MYs got faster than they used to be in part due to aluminum components being used extensively in the suspension, saving weight.

I have a 2018 Durango with the V6. I went RWD because it's less weight, and the AWD on the V6 is just a full time 50 50 split. The hemi gets a more rugged AWD system but its lowered ground clearance. I love my Durango. Reliability has been questioned a few times more than I'd like to admit. But other than a few flaws that weren't any issue drivetrain or transmission wise I absolutely love mine!

You had ECO on.... that's why you had 10's.... turn it off and it will shift alot faster and keep RPM's higher.

Medrano Fam very true. this 0 - 60 was somewhat amateurish. first point of audit is testing against Road & Track, Motorweek etc to see if the numbers make sense.

Many people also use these to tow campers and utility trailers. Can you guys test its towing capabilities? Dodge claims up to 7400 lbs with the V8 RWD. I'd love to see TFL reviews/opinions on that!

FYI if I use sport mode, NOT preloading the torque converter always seems faster off the line to me in my 8-speed Grand Cherokee than if I do. Try the 0-60 without preloading.

I've been with dodge since the day I had gone through three fords expedition and f150 breaking on us and then dodge truck we had way before any of them and has been sitiing for years never driven drove so well that I used it as my daily and never broke on me ever. and since til this day ram is one in my opinion. I got another ram sold the one I had as a daily wish I could keep it. miss my old ram

For 0 to 60 you should have had the V8. Secondly the 3 row is roomier than the competition. And the value proposition is pretty good.

I've got a 2014 Citadel HEMI AWD and I do love this car in all but one features. The only complaint I have (after 60.000km) are the mentioned brakes: they are not handling the big weight very well if you have to break multiple times (that's what I could live with) but also when breaking from high speed. So the car goes up to 131mph without problems (it is limited to this speed electronically) but if someone changes to your left Autobahn lane (this is where mine is driving) the brakes don't feel very good...

Thanks for the comment. We can't control the quality of the live videos (that's a youtube thing) however we have plenty of HD videos on our TFLcar and TFLtruck youtube channels. TFLnow is specifically for our live videos.

Such an idiot. These are shot live which means they go through KZbin's encoding process on the fly which means the channel has no control over the quality. The video relies on a cellular connection to stream live so KZbin automatically compresses the video into a 480p non-HD format that can reliably stream over cellular without any studdering. Don't go and criticize something you obviously know ZERO about.

Don't see how that shifter saves any space. A normal shifter could fit in the same space, it would just be taller which shouldn't make any difference.

George Grudziak I remember you from Pa. We bought Durango's around the same time a couple of years ago. You uploaded a really informative video about your 2014 Limited. I just traded my 2015 Citadel on a 2017 Volvo XC90. I miss my Durango especially after watching this video.

J High Ah yes! Hope all is well. How do you like it? I'm about to trade mine in too...choosing from either a 2017 Mazda CX-9 Signature or 2017 Acura MDX SH-AWD Tech Pkg. Durango has been good for the most part but had some ongoing issues with mechanical reliability and a lot of interior build quality issues.

I had no problems at all with my Durango (just over 38,000 miles). I hadn't even planned on trading it in but I saw the new Volvo XC90 at a car show and started researching it. I found mine online at a dealership 3 hours away from me outside of Nashville. The dealership gave me such a great deal on my trade and off the sticker price on the Volvo, that I couldn't say no. I do miss some of the features of my 2015 Durango Citadel that the 2017 Volvo XC90 doesn't have (power/tilt telescopic steering wheel, simpler use of basic controls,). The Volvo is almost overloaded with so much technology that the designers overlooked simplifying some of the most common and basic car features. I'm still a huge fan of the Durango, especially the R/T and Citadel trims. I'm looking forward to test driving the new SRT Durango later this year.

I agree with others about the quality of these videos. I'd rather have pre-recorded high quality videos rather than these poor quality live videos. Very painful to watch. The Pentastar is way overrated. Try it on the dyno. The Acadia V6 dusts the Pentastar in 300s and Chargers. And putting it in a 5100 lb + Durango is crazy.

Actually in day to day driving as an owner, I love the Pentastar. It’s got grunt when it’s needed. Everyone is always surprised at how fast it is when I need to get around or ahead of them quickly. It does fine with the weight it pulls when combined with the ZF-8 (or the Chrysler knockoff 8-speed). If you’re talking about the Pentastar before the 8-speed, then you might have a different opinion, but it in its current setup, it is the perfect engine and tranny for that vehicle. Long-lived as well; there are stories of that engine going 600k miles with only one timing chain change, simply as a preventative measure and not out of necessity.

I've had good luck with the Dodges I've had over the past 20 years. My Ram has been flawless over the past three years. I had a 99 Durango for 10 years, never had one issue other then a recall on ball joints.

David Fox .... it's in the low 8s. I have a Citadel, he mistakenly had Eco mode on. shifts are dramatically different.

They're also at a very high altitude. Keep that in mind. That's why most cars you know the 0-60 of will be a few seconds slower.
