Really like the 2023 Kia "Sportage" Peter. I like the completely re-designed vehicle's exterior styling all around, and the interior has really gotten very premium looking, and the Tech' on this SUV is second to none and at the top of its class as far as I'm concerned. Currently own a US-Spec 2019 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate which i love, but in the event I decide to trade-in my Tucson, the Sportage is certainly a vehicle I would consider along with the great Kia Sorento!...Thanks for the tremendous job you do Peter in showing us in great detail, the latest and greatest from the Hyundai/Kia groups ever increasing portfolio of great vehicles!

So, in Canada Daytime Running Lights are designed to be front lights only. If you wanted the rear lights to activate without the full headlight system on, you can turn on the marker lights.

Do you need 7 seats? If so, you only have one choice. Beyond that, I would consider if you want certain features, (maybe a panoramic sunroof?) in general, you can get those features at a lower price in a Sportage. If you like the Sorento LX Premium, have a look at the X-Line and EX Sportage as both of those vehicles are just lower and just higher priced than the LX Premium Sorento. If you just like the features of the LX Premium Sorento, you can step down to the Sportage and get most of the same features in a lower priced Sportage. So if you don't need the 7 seats, you have options in both the Sportage or Sorento, and you may want to choose which one you like the best (Styling etc)

Yes, if you get the 8" centre display screen, it will be wireless. The larger screen has it, but it's wired.

I have a 2014 Sportage and have been patiently waiting for the 2023. Hopefully our local dealership will have one to try soon. I really like the styling, although not crazy about the new nose. Better than the outgoing model, but I’m not sure if I like it. Not a deal breaker though. I like that the new model is bigger than my 2014. I had the opportunity to test drive the top model recently. I expected to be totally impressed. Well, it’s a nice car, but I wasn’t enough impressed to part with $40,000 over and above my trade-in. I like that it’s bigger than my 2014, but it doesn’t ride or handle that much better and isn’t that much quieter than mine. The lack of a turbocharged option or a bigger 4 or 6 cylinder were also factors that helped me make the decision to keep my current car. The new Sportage is a perfect size for me. I like the styling and certain amenities that mine doesn’t have; and the Sorento is more car than I need or want. I think Kia dropped the ball with the engine choices. Perhaps the next model year will have better opinions.

I’m disappointed that a turbo version is not available. I have a 2014 SX Turbo. I’m thinking seriously about trading up to the 2023, but I’m concerned that the lack of power will leave me wanting. That might just be the deal breaker for me. I’m pretty sure I’ll love everything else about it, although on some reviews, they talked about the transmission being not very smooth. I think they said it was a DCT. Is that the transmission we get in Canada?

The transmission is a traditional automatic. You may like the hybrid as it will add power and torque. It should be announced soon.

Go to the PHEV model and you get the Plug in Hybrid which combines the 1.6 turbo with Electric to combine for 261hp and you have added b3nefit of not needing g to use any gas for city driving during g the warm monthes. Canada has rebates and its $5000 government rebate here in Ontario for the PHEV

Honestly, I don't know. At one point it was rumoured for late summer or early fall, but anything with a large battery in the entire automotive industry seems to have trouble meeting demand. I honestly don't think that many auto manufacturers can make promises right now. Once I hear of an official release date, I'll make a video.

Exiting but that lower end digital Guage is hideous ! I think even the one below the top trim has it if I'm not mistaken. That's almost enough to turn me away from the car. I've been anticipating this car forever The price looks great though, $413 MSRP on the brantford kia site !

I don't mind the digital dash, and I think the majority of people will feel like this is a higher end upgrade to a lower end vehicle. As far as the $413 number on our website... looks like there was an issue with the feed that automatically populates that field. We're looking into it and will get it fixed. Sorry about that!

@@BrantfordKia , this is a common problem in the US (people study a foreign language in high school, then promptly forget everything they learned). Cruz is a simple, short word. Incidentally, Tom Cruise (the actor) pronounces his name in the same (short) way even with the French spelling.

I see Kia hasn’t learned from Hondas mistake in regards to a physical volume and tuning knobs. I can see Kia putting that on every trim soon after customer complaints start racking up. It’s definitely a love or hate vehicle, and I definitely hate the looks and especially that digital dash. No way that will last the life of the vehicle.

@@BrantfordKia the only real issue I have with the styling is the boomerang shapped DRL's in the front. It gives me Mitsubishi Outlander vibes, and I loathe Mitsubishi for getting rid of the Lancer Evolution and turning the Eclipse into a crossover instead of keeping it an iconic Tuner car. Since buying my 2020 Telluride, I'm quite convinced that Hyundai/Kia is "IT" automaker right now, they are really innovating and moving fast. Truely impressive and the Telluride alone, made me an instant fan. I gave up my Subaru Sti for a Kia, lol.
