Good to see short track racing. Easy for people to see action all around the track.

Nice to see some flat track racing. When did the series change from AMA? And why? Use to ride to Lima every year, seen finals at Sciota downs once. I believe Scotty P won that year.

Wow, Steve Morehead removes a bike of he driver. Cool. I was at I-86 Raceway in MIchigan in the 90s and got into the track for free for volunteering. My friend Phil Libhart and a couple other friends were entered in the race with their bikes. Phil had a Woods Rotax. Phil went on to professional Hillclimbs and was the champion or ran top 3 for several years and I believe is still competing in the AMA Pro Hillclimb series. My position was in turn one. During one heat, the red flag came out and a bike stopped directly in front of Steve Morehead instead of just backing off the throttle and being slowing down normally while being observant. Steve crashed, I don't remember the details. Having been hurt a few times from dirt riding, I immediately went toward him and his left leg was pinned between the hot exhaust pipes/boom can as the XRs used and the bike. A couple other people gathered. I made a motion and so did the others to assist and the AMA official comes running up saying, "Don't touch him, don't touch him". As I looked down seeing what happened, Steve clearly stated "get this f...king bike off my leg". I quickly steeped on the tire/rim at the back and grabbed the system and using my legs pulled up on the exhaust and a couple other hands grabbed as well. I had the most leverage and was very pleased to see that he was able to slide out his leg. Steve did not race for a couple weeks and I never knew if his leg was badly injured or bike issues. I was happy to see him back in competition. So i guess this is hes pass act of kindness in a way. Any of us would have helped, just saying. I haven't ridden a bike since 2012, not worth the risk at my age, street or dirt. I always loved flattrack but never had the time, money or place to learn. Anyone remember the Edgewood Raceway Edgewood, MD northeast of Baltimore? It was a T T track and they tried to get ABC Wide World of Sports to cover it but they didn't bite. Not long after than, it became an apartment complex. Gary Nixon used to be there a lot. That was back in the KR days of Class C racing.

I think it is 1/2 mile the announcer said short track.

Bro....Are you kidding me? It's less than a 1/3 mile....It's the classic Daytona short track.
