What you should be learning is that if you sell one of these people your watch they are going to low ball you so they can flip in amongst themselves and grind out profit from what they should have paid you. They don't want to deal with an end customer they will just flip it in, "an hour" like Jules said and make a quick buck at the original sells expense.

Unfortunately this is how deals go down in the Diamond District. It’s at the point where the watches are in the hands of the flippers and not the people that appreciate the watches. Supposedly the rolex grey market is trending downwards, as more and more people are getting calls from their ADs now. Let’s see what happens.

They couldn't care less about watches or the people who enjoy them, as illustrated by the fact that they don't want to sell to an end user. Just flip the watch amongst themselves to pick up small profits at the original sellers expense. This is why they don't offer you what the watch is worth when you go to sell it. Three or four dealers are going to make $500 to $1000 on the watch until it goes to an end wearer.
