Hi , why did you place a metal plate underneath the benchplate, for extra height perhaps? Are you also using a 0.05x lens for the Leica, the working distance seems like 200mm from obj lens to ballvise. Can you also tell me what magnification is common for stonesettings?

As it wasn't my bench, I am not entirely sure. But it does look like it is to bring the plate that bends over the top would be the proper height to attach the various accessories and such. I am still not very proficient on all the of microscope settings. I know that for me personally, my zoom level changes as I am working on a piece. A really good person to ask some of these questions would be Sam Alfano or Blaine Lewis. Sorry I am not help.
