Steve. Great panel today. I would say the best panel guests you have put together - most interesting and fun! George Borden: the forever archivist and cheerleader! Dr. Robert: great perspectives and wide knowledge plus stories. Stu Jeffries: excellent. Add him in more often if possible (all 3 of them) and to you - having them well organized in advance - well done!

Dr. Robert! This was a GREAT panel Steve, strong starts to 2024! DJ Stu was a great contributor, fun to learn about Canadian artists and rock music culture. Perhaps just sheer proximity - via touring, building regional followings, etc. presented challenges to Canadian artists back in the day (captivating --> keeping US audiences). My 18 yr old's first concert was Drake a few weeks ago, our 15 yr old can recite Metric & Alvvays lyrics, & our 11 yr old frequently DEMANDS Men w/out Hats be spun...Canadian music has definitely impacted our midwestern kiddos lives! (disclaimer: I used to think for a VERY long time Simple Minds was Canadian...I had no evidence (Mandela Effect?!) for this but I still pretend they are every time I rock my RL og lol)

YES! Finally Queensryche gets some time in the sun! The Warning and Rage for Order two very different sounds, but along with Operation: Mindcrime and Empire are 4 of the best “progressive” metal albums ever made. Thank you George!

Michael Jackson "Thriller" is the album that started me buying music , before it was just FM radio! I was 14 at the time (March 1984) ! The quality from my parents "meager" HiFi was tops with that LP! Played the hell out of it! Even bought a cassette copy for "on-the-go" , brought it to school, got it taken away by the teacher!

Great stream steve! I was at both shows with The Guess who at the Paramount. I remember Burton Cummings was really struggling with the Flu on the first night but improved a lot on the second night which I believe is most of the Album. Being a huge fan I remember them well. I really don't think they would have been any more popular no matter where they came from. That was a very competitive business back then So many great Bands! Anyhoo, The Guess Who, Ten Years After, Jethro Tull and on and on! We were all lucky to be there!

The Pink Floyd UHQR in decent condition is probably the most valuable MOFI album. The only other possible contender would be the Journey Escape album, which was only on sale for one day.
@stevewestman77748 ай бұрын
Yes the Journey MFSL going for crazy money. MFSL at the time lost the license to sell it or something years back. I did a vid on it. Here is the ink: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHbdi2OkmNycqZY

Steve, I'm sure you'll agree that, contrary to popular belief there ARE four seasons in Winnipeg: winter, mud, mosquitos, and winter...
