@@Hey_Its_JP did you watch the whole video? Her tone was the same when going through all the cases we covered today. She mocked Diddys lawyers, she snarked about trooper proctor, she teased the prosecutors in Diddy for being boring, and she prodded Baldoni’s lawyers for throwing out 160 pages of PR spin instead of a lawsuit. The vast majority of what was written was written for the tabloids and twitter, not for a judge. Why? Because a judge doesn’t care about most of it. Did you hear her mention for about 10 mins that this is a FIRST LOOK and a BRIEF OVERVIEW NOT a deep dive??? She said she didn’t have time for a deep dive today? She’s also already covered one of Justin’s lawsuits in exhaustive detail over 5+ hours. Blake’s complaint to the employment commission was written better because the complaints (whether true or not) actually applied to the group she filed her complaint with. Besides Blake’s was the first one we covered. Now we are on lawsuit FOUR in less than a month. I’m already sick of this whole situation and I TRULY don’t care about any person in any of the lawsuits. This is just two ex coworkers that ended up hating each other after working on an 18 month long project together. Right it happens. Just never see each other again. Problem solved. Don’t file 4 lawsuits. They are incredibly repetitive. And boring. I hope EDB drops all of this mess right from the docket so we can get to better cases and the Baldoni Stans can move on to plague another chat. I love Emily, but was a bit turned off by that “are we not entertained” comment. Not a Justin Baldoni fan (to be clear, am neutral on him), but no, I’m not in the least entertained by this. He is far, far less powerful than her and has a wife and two young children to support. He is fortunate that he has lots of texts, emails, and allegedly videos to support his side, and a financial backer who is willing to support the lawsuit (as he should). Otherwise, this man would have been ruined for no good reason other than Blake’s psychopathic tendencies, which become abundantly clear as you look through the *actual evidence* the lawsuit provides. Reading through the lawsuit and seeing proof of how Blake bullied and tormented this man (to the point he was in the hospital) for months, then tried to destroy him *just before Christmas,* made me feel slightly ill. She and Ryan deserve to pay big time. This isn’t fun, it’s quite serious.

One issue I still have is that Blake's initial complaint mentioned that at least one other woman had complained to the production company about Baldoni doing some sort of sexually harassing stuff, and it sounds like some other women had issues with him as well. While it's possible that Blake was able to get these women to lie after-the-fact, I think the complaint from the one other woman is likely true since it supposedly happened before most of this other stuff went down, and I think it would be difficult to lie about that. If even *some* of the sexual harassment claims end up being true, I don't think Baldoni has much of a leg to stand on - not to mention that his initial suit against the Times didn't do a great job of refuting most of her claims IMO. In his suit, he mentioned *one* instance where Blake allowed him to come into her trailer while she was pumping, whereas Blake said there were numerous times when he barged into her trailer while she was *breastfeeding* her baby, not just pumping. It seemed like most of his counterclaims were like that, where he didn't fully refute her claims. Blake's still a shitty person if all of Baldoni's other claims about her are true, but I think the sexual harassment will kinda overshadow some of that if it ends up being at least somewhat true.

Even the way she framed the case before getting into the suit (describing it ONLY as a question of whether a smear campaign is defamation or not, which is BL's narrative, rather than a potential case of weaponized sexual harassment claims, even though this is JB's suit and that is their claim) primes listeners to interpret this suit in a particular way, and strips them of further context. Presenting BOTH narratives, regardless of whether you agree or not, is BASIC FUNDAMENTALS when approaching a topic from an unbiased perspective. I still think she breaks everything down incredibly well, and I'm still going to listen because I think it's important to hear multiple perspectives, but I'm also going to be paying closer attention to the way in which she surreptitiously (and probably even unconsciously) skews her coverage.

Super disappointed with EDB’s coverage of Baldoni’s filing. The attitude and bias. Bummer because she’s really the only entertainment x legal podcast I listen to. I don’t have a lot of bandwidth to listen to multiple entertainment x legal podcasts, so looking for a replacement. I see some people recommend Runkle and Law & Crime. Any others I should check out? TIA!

I love you Emily and will follow you to the death. However, in this particular case being bothered by Justin's lawsuit format and calling it shade is not fair. They are responding in the same manner he was publicly accused. His side did not come up with the idea of providing every detail and screenshot at front, she did. They are public figures and after her complaint went public his image was immediately tainted. I was initially wrongfully on her side. I think it is what we do by nature. It would not cross my mind that she would make such serious allegations in such a deceiving way. I personally would have waited for my day in court to state my full case as it is something so serious. She put it out there for the public to judge. Why should he restrain himself? The man has all the right to defend himself in the same manner that he was attacked. Who know the time it will take for a court day and this to be over. In the meantime his public image is getting crushed which means he can't work. What would you do in his case if you firmly believed you did not SH anybody and have proof to show it?

Lively was being called out based on interviews/interactions with people she spoke with. She chose to act that way. It’s true if she would have let it pass the public would have moved on. I don’t know if there was inappropriate behavior on set we will see. However this lawsuit from her seems to be backfiring, if the purpose was to clear her name.
@ritagarland64729 күн бұрын
on another note...the supposed horrible things she said in these scandalized interviews are actually.... not that horrible??? from other perspectives these responses can even be read a whole other way (like the 2014 baby bump one, where there is a whole context at the time, of actresses snapping back against sexist interview questions, no different to livelys). likable or not, damn I myself dont even find a particular reason to like her, but her actual behaviour in the interviews is in fact so harmless that the whole extent of the public outcry about it seems really suspicious. it came out of nowhere and was so big, it did seem very unreasonable (unless people have no bigger problems than an actress not having a good sense of humor, which I doubt). I cant believe the logic, that based on these interviews shes that unlikebale so the harrassment against her cant be true and everything baldoni says must be taken more seriously in comparison (however weird ways he tries to spin it - like, dude, we wouldnt even know about the nicepool thing if you yourself hadnt brought it up!). in my perspective, he's just very desperate right now, because sexual harrassment , if proven true, is a real destroyer to his feminist career. thats why hes fighting dirty now with twisting it against her from all possible (and impossible) angles. seems to be working pretty well with the public, tho.

@@ritagarland6472 if I was him and my costar/ coproducer killed a character based after me, I would find that upsetting and disturbing behavior. That is just an example of the bullying behavior he is pointing out coming from her and Ryan. Her being blasted is not that unusual, she a big name someone calls her out for being a mean girl then a bunch of content creators start making content because they see videos discussing this get views. The journalist who released the old interview has said she did it in her own volition that counts for something, we will see if it’s true.
