They were only renamed because the actual countries were moved - swapped places. Ask Joe - he'll tell you so. It became a serious problem for Mexico's drug cartels -- now they have to fly back to Egypt (formerly Mexico) before jumping the border. And they're still working on returning to Mexico (formerly Egypt) all the camels that were on the land before it was swapped. Um, do you need drugs now? I think it will be a bit of a problem for history and geography books -- and kids trying to figure out what happened.
