This is absolutely hilarious! Such a great perspective too. Because I’m sure, even with a legal team, we all know who was in charge and ran the show. It was clearly never about fear, but anger that led to Jorge dying over hid perceived cheating for messaging other women. The numerous videos she studiously made never show her in fear of him or walking on eggshells, quite the opposite when you see her berating and belittling him. Not exactly the actions of a genuine dv victim. I suggest most of her injuries were self inflicted when in a drunken stupor or from Jorge defending himself. He was twice married and never hit his previous wives yet she often attacked Brian.

What a waste of the judge’s time, having to answer this nonsense. The judge covered himself so well leading up to this case. He warned her that you don’t get unlimited court appointed lawyers many times before she lost the privilege. He told her no more continuances unless it’s an exceptional circumstance. He had the state provide the evidence to her in her cell and she got a specific list of what the state planned on using to narrow it down. He granted her a laptop and digital copies of the evidence on top of having the physical items. He asked Owens if he could still go to trial without a continuance and he said yes. I’m tired of these clowns making a mockery of the courts. Sit down and shut up, Boone and Owens.

Amen!!!💯💯💯It’s so frustrating because of how long it took just to get her to trial finally, after everything the judge did grant her, making sure he asked her numerous times if she was happy with her defense & lawyers, and that’s with having the actual crime filmed by Sarah herself, who also admitted to zipping Jorge up in the suitcase & leaving him in there after beating him with a baseball bat. The courts are so backlogged as is, and people like Sarah who think everything should revolve around them, and that they can just keep filing ridiculous motion after ridiculous motion really aggravate the hell out of me. A new trial isn’t going to change the facts, Sarah!

If she’s allowed a new trial which I highly doubt I hope a nee judge allows the witnesses and evidence the prosecution was denied and she ends up getting an even longer sentence. Would they also be allowed to change the charge to 1st degree claiming they’d made an error with the original charge due to lacking certain key evidence at the time or is that not permissible. Might make her think twice, but doubt it. From London, UK

Emotional Manifestations by Victim or Family of Victim During Criminal Trial as Ground for Reversal, New Trial, or Mistrial, 31 A.L.R.4th 229 “This annotation collects and discusses the state and federal criminal cases in which the courts have considered whether particular emotional manifestations which were made during a criminal trial by the victim or a relative of the victim constituted sufficient grounds for the reversal of a judgment of conviction, or the granting of a new trial or a mistrial.” I don't have access to the cited publication, but apparently there is a body of case law around what conduct could trigger a mistrial/new trial/reversal of conviction, and what conduct would not trigger that. There is not one person here surprised by this. 30 years from now she'll still be yammering about how none of this is fair to her (if she's still alive anyway)

The only time she might finally admit she’s to blame and feels guilty and remorseful is when she comes up for parole. Although, she might have become institutionalised by then, in a relationship with a fellow lifer and might not want to leave.

They could try this case dozen times and it will always be guilty. She went from having a great day, she went up stairs and out of nowhere she claims she was at risk of being deleted. What happened to go from those two extremes? Honestly the jury made the right decision

What is she hoping for? That she can cause enough trouble and waste enough time that the prosecution concede snd give her that deal again? Thats not happening Sarah as you’re now a convicted murderer and have lost many of the privileges you previously had. If she does somehow get it I hope they end up giving her an even longer sentence and the judge allows certain witnesses and evidence previously denied to the prosecution.

I would be super pissed if I was Owen’s client and he shut down his practice and ignored my case to voluntarily take this one for publicity. They may not have the official transcript but they can access the KZbin transcripts

She’s forgotten she was going in pro se if it wasn’t for Owens coming to her rescue. Then rejects a deal he must have advised her to take knowing it was best case scenario. She has no one but herself to blame. KNOW THAT Sarah.

4 attorneys were weeks away from trial when boone began to berate them . The judge stated boone caused every trail delay. Each of her attorneys left because they due to ethical issues they could not procede. Owens preceeded because he is unethical, he knowingly allowed boone take the stand and LIE. Owens took on the case knowing the judge would not grant a continuance if a new attorney came on board.

Owens did it for the publicity and to get his 15 minutes. Thats why he stated he wouldn’t be representing her in any appeal. He gains nothing from it, literally, he did it pro bono.

Exactly. Has she forgotten she was going in pro se if it wasn’t for Owens coming to her rescue and doing it pro bono and then rejects a deal he must have pleaded with her to take knowing it was best case scenario. She literally has no grounds.

The arguments appeared very weak to me. Denied. Also, Owens made the “outburst” bigger than it was by drawing attention to it. EDB says all will be denied.
