As painful as the sale of the Bullitt was, it may give you a new perspective on car ownership. I sold my 1979 Z28 in 1981 and thought about it often. I found it 2 years ago sitting in a barn (it was dusty but whole). That gave me the closure I needed. Don't wait 40 years for your closure...find a way to direct this passion in a new way. Your viewers are connecting with you because of your passion. Find a way to break through the noise of other car reviewers who only spout specs. I suspect you will flourish from this. Good luck!

You’re not alone, my friend I got rid of my 2022 Honda Civic sport touring hatch to pay for my dog medical bills! I didn’t financially plan my life responsibly and I am not paying for it, but I would do it all over again to save my dog no matter what!🐶💜🚗

Still think there are some excellent cars that are semi-affordable for enthusiasts on a budget. An ND2 Miata, especially in a few years when they further depreciate, is an incredible affordable sports car. I know it’s more money but I have an FK8 CTR that I adore which can be attainable for the average person. Everyone seeing all these influencers with lambos and mclarens can skew reality a bit. You don’t need a six figure car to have fun. In fact, on the street, a Miata is more fun than any supercar, which you can’t get past second gear without going to jail. New cars are stupid expensive. Very powerful sports cars are expensive to buy and maintain. Find joy in the twisties 😎 won’t get you all the attention at cars and coffee but you’ll have a blast and not break the bank.

@@GreekCarFreak The ND Miata is certainly the best bang-for-buck sports car. Affordable to buy, and then cheap to mod and maintain. Great fun all the time to drive. It’s the perfect enthusiasts car in these money-strapped times (and I argue of all time).

I think The Miata video works because it’s a wild semi attainable car used.
@vehiclenanny
@vehiclenanny Ай бұрын
I think that is the answer. Most of the other reviewers focus on high dollar vehicles. That's fun to dream about, but a lot of us need bang for the buck. Watching and learning from reviews and ownership experiences of attainable vehicles has high value.

Hey Matt, I've been watching your channel since before you got the bullet. Your honest, real and down to earth format is why I love your content. Like you say, some people don't get attached to cars, others like you and I do. I know how tough it must have been parting ways but I'm happy knowing it went to a great new owner. Keep up the hard work!

I have been watching your car reviews for years now and I'm sad to see you had to sell your Bullitt because I know how much you love that car. We all have to live within our means, especially with the cost of living today. I am a Corvette guy and a manual transmission lover so my personal dream car would be a C7 Corvette Convertible with a 7 speed manual. I don't even need the ZR1 because the regular C7 is plenty fast enough for me. Someday I might be able to buy that car but it sure isn't now. That's why I have a 2000 triple black C5 Corvette convertible with a 6 speed manual in my garage. It has 140K miles but runs like a clock, cost less than $11K to purchase and costs less than $100 a month to insure. I love the car and it allows me to have a Corvette even it it's not my 1st choice of generations. I get that you can't justify a $50K car in your garage that costs hundreds a month to insure. But I bet you could justify a 15K car that costs less than $100 a month to insure. Down the road I'd at least consider the possibility of picking up a moderate mileage 2008 Bullitt Mustang to fill the void in your garage and in your heart. It may not be your first choice of generations but it would be a lot of fun until you find yourself in a position to get back into a S550 Bullitt. Just a thought.

It's a shame that it takes a bad event for people to come together, and remember we are all human beings, who share a commonality, and as Maya Angelou said, "We are all more alike, than we are different." Tough time to launch a car channel, as I will be doing soon. However, as human beings, there are always going to be challenges, and tough times. It is those to things that make us better, give us new insights, and hopefully, inspire others to succeed past their challenges. I have been following your channel for well over 8 years, with my late fiancee, Laryn, whom I lost to Breast Cancer in January 2021. We always loved watching your very emotional reactions to speed and power you weren't expecting!😂 Losing her was one of the most painful things in my life, yet, everyday I "feel" her pushing me to keep going, and helping others, as we spent 28 years together doing, and I will get the channel she was working on so hard to put together in her final months of life. Know that she, and many of us still here with you, are behind you in this next step in your automotive journey, believe that at some point you will be making that video saying your baby is coming back home. We all have to make sacrifices, but they often lead to better things that maybe at this time period, we would never expect to happen. Always remember who you are, the joy and good fortune to have the dream job that you love, that is never just a "job", and from one car guy to another, remember the words of another "Car Guy", Michael Knight, "Always straight ahead!" Stay blessed, Matt & Beth!❤

Had to sell my c6 in 2020 when my son was born. My neighbor bought it for what I paid for it 3 years prior, so I thought I did ok. Unfortunately, he totaled it 9 months later and received 8k more from the insurance than what he paid me for it. So, knowing my pride and joy was now sitting in a junkyard and him sharing that info with me was like salt on the wound. Still think about it almost every day.

I want a 2019 Bullitt bad. I have watched many of your videos and was sad when you sold yours. I enjoyed your video of the Boss 302. You said it was a good day and that for Boss 302 owners, everyday is a good day. Question: I have a 2012 Boss 302. Would you sell a 2012 Boss 302 to buy a Bullitt?

I guess it comes down to how much you love the Boss, but in my opinion the Bullitt is a more fun car, but possibly slightly less raw than the Boss. Hope that helps!

Dude, if this channel is your only family income, it might be better to just get a job and put this channel on hold for a bit. It will at least give you reliable income and health insurance and other benefits that a family needs. Why not work for a car company or dealership. That way you can still work around the things you love, maybe do reviews for the dealership cars, and then have stable income/benefits. Your whole family can’t rely solely on the channel if it’s slowing down.

I know you made a comment about focusing on affordable cars. But I would advise you against that. Many of us watch for escapism and enjoying those aspirational cars vicariously through KZbinrs who are truly into cars.
