In June 1896, 6,000 Taiwanese were slaughtered in the Yunlin Massacre. From 1898 to 1902, some 12,000 "bandit-rebels" were killed in addition to the 6,000-14,000 killed by Japaness in the initial resistance war of 1895. As a Taiwanese, I always remember the history

This is ONE of the many defensive reasons WHY China has to build up a strong and powerful military today and forever. In the 18th - early 20th centuries, China was militarily weak and taken advantage of by the 8 different foreign powers which even today, are plotting to once again weaken China and invade it - if not directly, then by economic and financial subterfuge. China, above all, wants peace but needs to be able to repel with ferocity all those who want to do harm to it and its people.

I love China as much as i love Japan, but i would NEVER undermine Nanjing massacre. Japan is guilt and should be accountable for what happened. They could discuss about the range of the event and underestimating it as a "normal war crime", but the fact remains. Japan slaughtered innocent people, history won't change if they deny it. From Italy, as a human being and a woman, i always feel Chinese grievance about it and i pray for those innocent souls. And i love China's policy today, stronger in the proposal of not forgetting the events and determined to avoid another massacre in their country. Stay strong, China. The blood of the past is what makes Chinese people resilient and stronger than ever.
