Its good to see someone who actually knows how to drum on the pep/marching band. At my old school (I'm home schooled now) the kid they had for the drummer was what grandpa and I like to call, a three piece drummer. He could only use both hands and the foot he used for the kick drum, he didn't use the hi-hat foot at all.

Ive tried the buddy rich sticks before and they feel good but for a heavy hit like him I would recommend the Vic Firth extreme 5bn, they’re extended by a few inches and a little bit thicker so it allows you to reach for cymbals that are a little far and it makes you play louder without even trying

Practise, every drummer starts somewhere, every drummer on earth had to go through the simple stuff, everyone of them was learning simple hihat snare base rhythms at one point of their drumming life

flo Florian It wasn't that impossible. Pretty similar to the one on Rope - Foo Fighters, which is just a paradiddle with the right hand on the ride bell, left hand on snare. Sure, there are simpler things, but its really just starting slow and practising it to get the muscle memory, then you'll be able to play it as fast as you like in no time :)

Memorization takes practice and they a re told by the director which song is up next

Once you play in a per band for long enough, the songs are easy enough that if you know how the song goes, it’s not too hard to figure out what beats to play and what the figures are
