The shot Pant played was very disappointing. But also Jaiswal, playing aggressive hook shot when win was totally out of the question. He is receiving no criticism from India for that ridiculous shot. Jaiswal fell for the old one two from the master Patty Cummins. Bowled Jaiswal the slow bouncer, the rookie Jaiswal fell for it hook line and sinker. Pujara is very much admired in Australia, so too Dravid of course. These type of players are much needed too.

Hitman decided to go back to opening because he thought with some luck, he may get a few runs. A dropped catch, couple of edges to the boundary and and mishit over the keeper he may have got to 50 odd runs and everyone would have hailed hitman is back to form. One other thing that I observed is lack of game sense. NKR played a fabulous knock no doubt. But why try to hit over the fielder at long off that too on the second ball of Lyon’s over. If the last wicket absorbed 5-10 more overs and scored another 25-30 runs it would have helped. Secondly I did not understand Washington not trying to protect the tailenders. He did not even attempt to take the singles and keep strike. Ridiculous.

Gill wasn’t dropped so that Rohit can open. Gill was dropped because he wasn’t playing well and they wanted to play Washington. I don’t understand why you guys can’t see that Gill wasn’t performing.
