Live Edge Cookie Side Table

Using a slice of crabapple tree i took out of my backyard nearly 5 years ago, i built my wife a new plant stand/side table.

Nice table John. Loved it! I would probably have filled the middle up with epoxy, but that would have been an huge error, it's really nice as it is!

Thanks Jesper! Yeah I debated going the epoxy route but couldn't really think of a good way to close in the end that would look consistent with the live edge, so I decided to leave it and if I decided to add it in after the fact I still could. Don't think I will though.

Oh maybe. Never really thought of them as an option. I’m not the biggest fan of them, though I’ve never actually done them or seen them in person so maybe I’d like them better that way.

You know what would be a great project for the remaining cracked open cookies is to use a deep pour epoxy on them. Not only will it strengthen them, but you can use some really cool epoxy dye colors for a great looking effect. Check out Blacktail Studio's YT channel for some really cool project ideas.

Fun story how you took it back several years to the beginning. The table looks wonderful and though you said you are happy with the table, we suspect your wife must be pleased. We do know the truth for why you built this project... we suspect your hassling your wife on your previous video as she tried to take a nap in your "construction" area may have inspired you to earn brownie points to make up for it. LOL!!!
