I think the problem is that suspension of disbelief works on a sliding scale and everybody has their own tipping point before they get fed up with the amount of bullshit going on in a piece of media and start to see nothing but the flaws in it. You and MauLer both seem to agree that the writing in Doctor Who is silly, he just doesn't enjoy that aspect of it, but I think he has fun bashing on media he thinks is bad. Sometimes you just gotta rant on how Jeffy is the worst character in SML.

8:48 the discussion on Jenny’s joker review only took up a small portion of that livestream. Most of it was just the hosts messing about and joking with eachother. Also, Jenny did say she thought that joker’s message was ‘don’t take your meds’. That’s not exactly mildly critical so much as it is absolutely insane.

this is such cringe, your main problem with the vid was that you thought the "doctor who has completely destroyed itself" referred to the ending of the latest season, but the title refers to the entire franchise, from the writing taking a nosedive, by a man whose skill clearly worsened. It doesn't help that you pause for like 5 minutes for clips that's like 5s, then skip to 30s later before watching the next bit, no wonder you have no idea what you are talking about, you don't cover the vid, you peep at random intervals with no context of what was said before. (I'm ok if the cover of the vid is long, but if you're gonna do that, at least cover it in its entirety to not lose track of the conversation and end up talking about things they already answered but you skipped over) It's such cringe. please, if you're gonna act smug then at least be right.

I do question Mauler's motives lately. Right after his Fallout dunk video, on EFAP he admitted he didn't know who Joshua Graham was and in previous episode like the one on Emil Pagliarulo, Mauler admits he only played Fallout 3 in the franchise and was only really clowning around in it, so I have no idea why he was acting so emotional and angry and using lore arguments in his Fallout video while hurling personal insults at the showrunners. Mauler would play dumb and ask questions about the show and then answer those questions like 30 minutes later and as a result he comes across as disingenuous. Of all the things to get angry about...the Yao Guai scene. It just feels so performative.

joshua graham is a DLC character whose DLC and background doesn't affect the show by not knowing about it. when he needed info he made sure to contact as many people knew were knowledgeable about it like creetosis, rags, mootal and others and had them proofread the script. Fallout 3 is *very* shallow and it doesn't take you much to realize that and just disengage from the story as you don't need to dive to reach the bottom of a shat kiddie pool. not liking fallout 3 and not caring about the DLCs doesn't mean you can't like fallout 1, 2 and fallout new vegas's story now, about the questions what were the questions he ended up answering in his own video? And yao guai-wise, the dude was in power armor and was thrown around like a clown, and the result of that farce where a walking tank gets bodied by a bear, by internal bleeding especially, is that the side character gets a fully working, jetpack-equipped walkable tank, going from a squire to a knight in a few minutes. At least in the show they could've made the yao guai much more violent, and it bites at one of the joints crushing the dude's arm or hell, ripping the helmet clean off with his head still in there, it would've made it so the knight doesn't say such stupid lines like "hey, when you rescue me i'm gonna get you hanged", or made it so the scribe doesn't decide to let the guy bleed out like a psychopath, hell, the scribe then could've tried to contact them with the helmet but the comms got damaged and only mangled static comes out, so there isn't that cringe impersonation joke that falls flat instantly.

2) Just with those changes, you can make him flee because of him feeling he fucked up and not only did he fail to save the guy but the BOS, who recently raked him over the coals over someone being seriously wounded, now has to deal with a dead knight who "just happened to be with that same guy", so his career is completely shot in his eyes. Hell, he could've fled and ran away because the yao guai, despite that, was still alive, though too wounded to hunt him down, and it's later that he realizes he's too unequipped/he needs firepower (to perhaps protect someone), and he has to go back to that cave and get the armor, and finds himself to have to finish off the yao guai that's wounded but still a powerful foe, and him winning over it symbolizes his growth in skill, courage and sense of self worth

Which something that happens in Fallout 4, with a Vault 111 pip-boy capable of opening other vault doors. Mauler asks "why didn't Moldaver go in to 33 straight away?" when the show demonstrates that opening the door alerts the Vault, but Mauler can't put two and two together because that would hurt his point. "it's not clownish to start running away." that's not the problem, it's the entire situation that doesn't fit, it's like if, well, a TANK, started fleeing from a grizzly bear after the commander was attacked because he was standing outside of the tank before getting jumped by it. If they wanted some actual control they'd have a vault-tec vault headquarters controlling every non-test vaults' views and values, and they would be the one in possession of those nukes. Hank still nukes a town because his wife left to that place. If the argument shifts to "well that town is competition so you have to nuke it", then he'd have a few dozen more targets to nuke in that timespan, boneyard, necropolis, the hub, so and so on. "He missed the point that they're buying up the solutions so they have control and power, not because they don't want to use them" If they have control over them, including cold fusion, then they can buy the entire market, and yet they didn't use it. and didn't buy the rest of the market. That's a valid criticism of fallout 4, it's a massive security problem and it allows any faction that has access to even a single pip-boy to come in uninvited with overwhelming weaponry, the kind of stuff that made vault cracking in fallout 1 something hard and lengthy, including fallout 2 whose opening/trailer shows exactly the kind of fate vault dwellers will have if you have such an easy access to the vault. If you want to be enraged over Halo 4 despite not actually knowing the story, that's kind of strange.
