Would say test cricket is in pretty good shape now... for every Adelaide Test 93 back in those days, there were probably three no result snorefests

Today's match played between WI and Australia brought back memories to this very match which happened 30 years ago. Today's match was up there as being one of the best test matches of all time. The Windies are here people with Shamar Joseph leading the leather hunt

When I watched cricket during my childhood days I remember that it was good quality . But when I watch that now, it's very poor quality . But now I understand it was not well preserved by tv channels . Thanks for this good quality video. And great test match.

2 things stand out to me in this Test Match. 1. Remembering how amazing Curtly Ambrose truly was. 2. From his 1st test match. What a fighter Justin Langer was. When all of his more experienced colleagues were falling left & right. He battled away, almost helping Australia win this from nowhere.

I'm in Adelaide and remember this. As the game was played here it wasn't shown on TV, so I didn't see it but heard it on the radio. I was heartbroken at the result. Two more runs would have been the perfect ending for local boy May on his birthday and a series win in Border's last series against the WI, who had dominated through the 80s. Lots of interesting things here: Only 2 overs for Warne in 2st inns. And he was so athletic back then. Young looking Langer on debut. A few all-run fours, which often happened at Adelaide in those days. Some general signs of the old days: Test players smoking. LBWs without the extra drama of DRS. WI with four fast bowlers. No boundary rope and spectators leaning over the pickets to get the ball.

This was one of the most heartbreaking match ever. It was an unfortunate test match for Australia because of losing that match by one run.I wish that Australia could have won this match but West Indies were certainly a better team that day and they deserved to win this match and overall a great game of cricket 🏏

The Decline of the Mighty West Indies of the 80's had started with the Retirement of Legends like Sir Viv Richards, Gordon Greenidge, Malcolm Marshall and Jeffery Dujon in 1991, but it was still the team to beat for at least 4 more years. But the gap was closing and closing fast as this Match shows.
@juanestadian84714 жыл бұрын
Started long before that pantas. Viv and co were old by 88 and even though it is possible Pakistan could have drew with us in our prime, they were greatly helped by the fact that viv, haynes, greenidge and Maco were all over 30. The English tour of 1990 confirmed this.

When I see Carl Hooper's batting, it reminds me of Nick Kyrgios. Though these two played different sports, they were enormously talented whose records don't do justice to their potential. They both lacked concentration which was a big thing for their poor records.
