Live underwater footage of most deadly "Blue Ringed Octopus".
Along with perfect camouflage to surroundings, these creatures react to a danger by flashing bright blue colour rings on their skin, while skin changing the colour itself to blend to the surface. It is fascinating to watch them while they are on the move hunting, very hard to spot, typical size is less than 2 inches.

Ya know, when a blue ringed octopus flashes it's rings, it's feeling threatened. Be careful. Good Video!

It's amazing how well the rings show up underwater. They almost glow supernaturally. Were you aware of how poisonous they are though? You gotta keep a safe distance. They're typically not aggressive but never touch them.

+Kristina Bergie yes, thank you! I am aware how deadly these creatures are :) I red that there is still no cure found for their venom.

Not that we know of. Not that it would matter, you probably would die before they could get you to an antivenom even if one existed. Excellent camera work btw.

Kristina Bergie timing, especially underwater always an issue! :) and... thank you, I tried hard to stay close without disturbing the octopus and touching corals.

+Karel Mestdagh thanks, it was hard to film them, they all are about a finger size and blend well to the surface, my camera was loosing the focus all the time... i should use fixed focus next time...

Yeah fixed focus is a good idea, I had the same problem with one of those little buggers in Bali :)

what i've seen, some of them shows rings permanently, increasing or decreasing their colours, when they got threaten, that's the females, the males blend completely to the surface as the rest of octopus species and only show rings under stress or excitement. to your question, yes, they all can change skin tone, they practically invisible on a reef without movement... it is very rare trophy to meet blue ringed octopus, usually there are 2-3 guides are searching for them within a group of divers, still with a very small percent of success finding them...
