So sad that this song got 16th place. One of my favourite songs from this year's Eurovision contest. Love the words, love the message and love Francesca's voice. Also well done for singing it in native language rather than english like almost all the contestants do. Congratulazioni dall'Inghilterra!

Il mio ego Italiano si alza ogni volta che vedo un video di una esibizione Italiana all'Eurovision
Thank you from an Italian. Francesca was really young at that time, but an accomplished singer. Her Italian is so neat.This song is naturally quite easy for us if one knows the theory behind"the six degrees of separartion among people". It's easier the part in English. She's famous now especially in duets with other famous songwriters. She's precious.

Courtnay Cheung Especially when it's clear that English isn't the singer's natural spoken language and it sounds very accented and uncomfortable. However, I think everyone's realised that you have a better chance at winning if the majority of the audience can understand you :(

Clearly Europe didn't get the meaning of the song nor the staging. All the apparently "random" items that you see on the stage are common things we all have in our houses... and all the different fruits represent the diverse European countries (with their people, cultures and traditions)... we're all different fruits grown from the same tree, and this tree is called Europe. It was a peace anthem, and no one received the message.

For those who know this bilingual version of this song, but don't know the Italian language, here is the italian lyrics translated into English (the English verses written especially for this bilingual version will be in square parentheses [ ] ): Nessun grado di separazione (No degree of separation) It's the first time it happens to me Before I locked myself in a box Always a little distant from the things of life Because I had never felt it so deeply And then I felt an emotion light up fast And make its way into my chest without turning off its voice And no longer feeling tension, just life inside of me No degree of separation No hesitation whatsoever There is no longer any division Between us We are only one direction in this universe, which moves There is no degree of separation I gave less space to the heart and more to the mind Always one step back And the soul on alert And I was looking at the world from a door That was never fully open And not up close And no, there is no hesitation Finally inside of me [ There is no degree of separation There is no degree of hesitation There is no degree of space between us Live in love We are stars aligned together Dancing through the sky We are shining ] No division No degree of separation In this universe, which moves And then I felt an emotion light up fast And make its way into my chest without turning off its voice

We have to have a culture to understand this song or this kind of song. The problem is that many countries do not have this culture and is fascinated by fireworks and the flashing lights! bye from Italy
@candidshadowcollections66708 жыл бұрын
+intersezioni I fear italy would fare much better if they were more international, and that means everything, from writing legibly and competently in english to earning once more the international credibility and reputation the country deserves.Us italians, we throw the world "culture" around very often, and I read even more often how Others, be it europe, the US, the South of italy, or whoever the subject of the conversation happens to be are lacking in that department, or don't understand the level we are presenting.And that's just bullshit.We, as a country and population, have disintegrated our credibility. We present ourselves poorly--did you see Rai1's coverage tonight??If we want juries and people to truly appreciate our culture, it's time we get off our high horses, and start racing the rest of the world with the same racecars they've been lapping us with for decades.

+intersezioni you can't put all the people from one country into one pot. That's what you just did with your statement about culture. It was a highly diverse song with a strong message which unfortunately many people didn't understand and appreciate enough. But to say that one country has the better culture than the other is pure egocentric IMHO.

This song is so beautiful. I don't know the meaning of the words, because I'm Polish and I don't know Italian, but my heart and intuition tell me that this song is about something really important. Great perfomance. The jury's note is too low, as usual, for such good and ambitious pieces.
@riccardoc14303 жыл бұрын
The song is about the theory of six grades of separation: the idea that all people on average are six, or fewer, social connection away from each other. For example, I know person X who knows person Y who knows person Z who knows Tom Cruise. In this song, she says that she lived in a detached way from the things of life, but suddenly she felt an emotion that allowed her to look at life in a deeper way, chasing her dreams, while before she did not chase them fearing to fail. When she instead felt this emotion that removed her from her rational vision, detached from the world, she began to enjoy life, to feel connected with other people: that's why she says that actually there is no degree of separation

I voted the maximum amount of 20 times for her, yet she ended up in the 20th place in the televoting of my country (the Netherlands). Such a shame, I really love this song.

+Jesper - Latvia-my country did not gave even a point... But I voted. Its too much people and different understandings. That is normal. Nothing changes point, that this song is fantastic! And I have listened for it all the day.:)

That awkward moment when you're from Spain, and can understand the lyric of this Italian song very well. Such a beautiful song!

This song may have only got 16th place, but I really enjoyed it. Francesca's performance was great, the song stood out, but it was the Eurovision contest itself that failed. Her career has progressed and her music becomes ever more interesting and intriguing. I don't carry much away from individual contests, especially in the year 2022, but I became a fan of the genuinely talented Michielin at this point. I continue to follow her work. A genuine artist.

So underrated. I really don't understand why she didn't win or, at least, why she wasn't in the top 5. Francesca is young, powerful, genuine. Her song has got a very beautiful and deep meaning and a positive message - 'we all are equal'. Italy sends beautiful songs and talented singers every year and all their songs are sung in Italian! Few countries sing in their own language! I don't understand Eurovision, it's becoming so trashy! Italy deserves more attention, guys!

I disagree with the word "trash". Sure this song deserve more but the winner song was beautiful too, don't forget. As many other this year. It was a very good esc this year. Not like 1 year ago

Sorry for Italy and sorry for Francesca Michielin... Your score was unfair! For me it was the best song this year, the only one who gave me chills. Bravo and ciao!
