I wish Anika would do some tutorials on how to use her book. It’s so vast I’m not sure how to begin!

Just try to master every concept with the stickings that she recommended. Once you feel like in a plateau, just move on. For example when you understand how to use subdivisions, accents, stockings to your favor, you got the full benefit as a concept. Now you have to gain muscle memory and fluidity, you can also applied to the kit, but if you master on the pad, you will be fine. Have some space to let you go, you’ll see after some time that things start to flow naturally. Study what you want, or want you need in the moment, but be sure to have a vast understanding of triplets, 16ths, sextuplets and 32th. Those are the most important, then you can get into 5’ 7’, the odd ones give you a lot of flexibility in your playing. No rules here, I thinks this is why she doesn’t have specific material . Just flow and be aware of your technique. Anika doesn’t get into technique too much
