IF Starling Marte is still on the team and he is in fact the primary DH, he loves the 2 hole. Keeping him off his feet as a DH he might be able to continue the late season momentum. If he can that would lengthen the lineup. Lindor Marte Soto Vientos Nimmo Alvarez McNeil Taylor/Siri Open 3B slot Not thrilled with that lineup but what else can we do.

That's a good lineup for left handed pitchers, but it's better if Mets continue to develop Vientos at third base and leave an open competition at 1B between Jared Young, Joey Meneses, Brett Baty, and Jesse Winker.

Great show! We wholeheartedly agree that top of this batting lineup should include Vientos after Soto & Nimmo in cleanup without Alonso. Sean Manaea is definitely Mets ace. I was excited with that signing. However, they should have a 6 man rotation respectively with Senga, Peterson, Montas, Holmes, and Megill/Buttó/Blackburn/Canning. Does our favorite team have a negative bias against black players or will they actually develop left hander Anthony Gose in the bullpen and consider bringing back Kumar Rocker at the trade deadline as the final starter? Also, Jared Young & Joey Meneses should compete with Winker/Baty at 1B to let Vientos improve at 3B. Did anyone sign Michael A. Taylor, Jr. or Joey Lucchesi? Both would be great additions to the team. Let's Go Mets!!!

I completely agree that Luisangel Acuna should not be the Mets utility infielder. He needs to play every day in the majors or at AAA. However, with all the talk of Drew Gilbert taking over in centerfield, why isn't Acuna considered a potential centerfielder? I have never seen him play in the outfield, but the reports I read say that he is a good defender. While he didn't put up the greatest numbers at AAA, how he played when he was called up makes me think he should be given a chance to win the centerfield job. Even if he slumps offensively, he would likely put up a higher OPS than Jose Siri. The one thing we know that doesn't slump is speed, and Acuna has tons of speed. Bat him 9th, and he becomes a second lead-off hitter batting in front of Francisco Lindor. Every time he reached base, he would be a threat to get into scoring position. That is far more likely to happen than for Siri to hit a home run.

Stearns values defense so much he wants to move a pretty bad 3b to 1b and have Acuna, Baty and McNeil move between 2b-3b. But now Nimmo's foot might keep out, so McNeil goes to the OF. Pete goes to the Angels and hits 45 hr. McNeil, Acuna and Baty wont hit 20 combined.

Ke'Bryan Hayes or Jazz Chisholm, Jr would be better trade options, if the team would absolutely need to move Mark Vientos to first base. LGM!!!
