@rocketpoweredmohawk has explained why the lance stroll f3 champiionship season was a fraud, his dad bought the prema team, he had a simulator built that no one else had not even his teammate, they also had a suspension part too big and cause him to disqualify from one race when it’s supposed to be a SPEC SERIES. Also in the first race of the first lap his teammate had the lead and by the second lap he gave it up (George Russel even commented on it back then)

Agreed everything has just been so weird and as New Englander this feels like Brady-Belichick all over again. Sports greats and their long time organizations really can't find a way to break up gracefully

Lewis just having one of his classic inconsistency streaks? Making to many mistakes when it counts. It's always been there, but if you have a dominant car it's harder to see.
@wonkybomb1865Ай бұрын
I think there’s a couple factors. First they had an engine so dominant in the previous era that it masked all the shortcomings of most of the rest of the car giving some of the engineering teams a false sense of greatness and capability. Every year they were just turning the engine up a little more keeping at the top of the field until they hit its reliability cap and the other teams caught up. Second big factor is Lewis’s emotional state starting in 2021 and the car not being good since. Being on top for so long only to find yourself a backmarker and slowly having to work his arse off just to get to midfield I imagine would suck for any driver. It wasn’t until recent he’s been able to have a couple high points. There’s the George element where he now has a driver dunking on him most weekends instead of Bottas who whether he liked it or not still supported him whenever the team asked. Another part of the equation is that since he’s leaving the team has cut him off from any new technical developments and conversations as teams usually do giving him less understanding of what’s underneath him which is why we see him struggling making vast setup changes just to try anything that’ll work. I think mentally he’s just done with Mercedes with so many contributing factors and he just can’t wait to move on. I’m not a LH fan but I can definitely understand his position and how done with it I’d feel at this point. He’s a racing driver so he’s still always going to try his best I don’t think he’s just phoning it in but he definitely seems tired there. I think Vegas will be decent for him and I hope Ferrari works out because aside from racing or what anyone or myself used to think of him outside of it all he seems like a genuine good person who is humble and charitable most of the time.

The 'hot take' about Alonso wasn't that far-fetched. He was defending WDC in 2007 when Hamilton turned up at Mclaren and beat him, as a rookie. Lewis has developed since then, Fernando not so much, though both are still great drivers.
@EnzoDino14Ай бұрын
Fernando hasn’t developed? Have you watch and analyze any data since then? Cause I can give you a quick run down on car dynamics and his lead engineers and car designers praising how he outperformed the cars. For you to say he has not developed since then is the most insane and idiotic take I’ve read in a while.
@denisaksoy4242Ай бұрын
@@EnzoDino14 People often overlook or downplay the achievements of drivers they don’t like or feel indifferent toward. Fernando is a modern legend, and I agree with you about the engineers’ praise for his ability to outperform the car. Even Lewis himself has spoken highly of Alonso, as have many others who truly understand all the variables involved in the sport.
@EnzoDino14Ай бұрын
@@denisaksoy4242 That man was literally 8 points away from having 5 titles. Yet, he “didn’t develop since then.” 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@RabidJohnАй бұрын
@@EnzoDino14 No, I said Lewis was better than Fernando in 2007 when the former was new and the latter at his peak, and that since then Lewis has developed MORE THAN Fernando. That's because most progression occurs at the bottom of a learning curve with diminishing returns towards the top. I'll say it again: both are still great drivers.
@EnzoDino14Ай бұрын
@@RabidJohn How exactly did Lewis develop more than Fernando? Is it because of the car he had under him, which allowed him to achieve better statistics? Do you have a data sheet that shows how much he has developed over the last 17 years? In 2007, Lewis was indeed impressive, but the claim that he is "better" can be quite biased, as there are many known and unknown factors that influence both their performances during that season. Lewis's achievements are impressive, but there is bias in that statement. I could also argue that Alonso was the better driver from 2010 to 2014, given that he had a less superior car, but that too can be seen as biased.
