Love these auctions. They also give you a chance to see unavailable artworks. I watch them all.

Monet, Chagall, Renoir, Signac, Picasso and Caillebotte ask a group question to the buyers: "Did you really, really like our paintings?" The answer was, "No, but your signatures were on them"!

Great way to see how inflation works when you tune in a couple of years later I figure inflation lifts the average work by 10 to 12 per cent a year.

The Renoir nude at the sea was probably a steal. The Chagall (12) was beautiful.

I was just coming her to say the same thing. I don’t understand why that was done?? Someone enlighten me. Less profits for them too even though it was a smaller amount on the scale of prices being thrown around. But why accept a lower bid??

Noob question: are such sales usually financed out of the buyer's pockets or do professional collectors also use debt finance/leverage?

More than once, critics have discussed new trends in contemporary art. The common denominator was the emphasis on the creative process as the decisive and most important thing. Compmaturism came to the fore.

I wonder how it feels like in a spiritual and moral sense to say "Wonderful drawing" about Basquiats horrible effort that even most of any children would feel shameful of having produced.

Yes.It's a joke, isn't it?I find it mystifying that with the existence of so much exquisite, and truly awe inspiring art, people choose to value and revere such rubbish.
@mikael56664 жыл бұрын
@@glenncambray626 Thank you for your comment. Yes, it must be a joke, have problems understanding how it is possible. Appreciation of art con only be subjective to a certain degree, just like with literature or music.
