Back in the day our group was told we were going on the road and had like a week to get ready. I went to my music dealer and ordered some custom Anvil cases but of course they would not get to me in time. I had them forward the cases to our first stop in Alaska and had to get my keyboards ready to ship without them. I ended up wrapping the keyboads in packing blankets, duct taping them on and hoped for the best! Luckily they made the trip from Hawaii to Alaska ok and when we made our next move I had the Anvil cases. Fun times!

That looks indeed like a mighty case. Exactly what the doctor ordered, you could say 😀 Hard at work to prepare for that tour you mentioned briefly. Exciting.

Australian hear . Found a perfect hard case for my Arturia Minibrute 2 for 100 AUD . Made by brand called Toolpro . Similar in protective quality to a gator pelican case. My second solution was an Osprey TAC two gun bag. I can fit my 49 key midi and Arturia Minifreak smaller Midi controllers and other bits and bobs. It’s awesome. Again 100 AUD . I would of had of paid 500 for something of similar quality that stated it was for keyboards .

You talk about the airport ramp hands as if they are FedEx delivery drivers.....🤣

Actually my Fedex guys are really great. My UPS guys on the other hand, consistently destroy most of what they deliver to me.

@@ScottsSynthStuff I have just the opposite.. 3 claims against FedEx in one year.. 3 complaints on top of that for lack of proper service...UPS always 100% perfect.

I don't get why you must carry a DI box along with the fantom-o. It has balanced outputs, so all you would normally need if you must plug into XLR are a pair of TRRS to XLR cables, or am I missing something ?

I was thinking the same. If the cables are balanced why get a Di Box? probably to go into a mixer that doesn't have 1/4 input but still

Hey Scott ☺️ I’m liking your Z stand in your video and have noted the part numbers down to see if I can buy it over here in the UK, do you think that stand could take the weight of these 3 x keyboards on it? Is there any wobble with your keyboards on yours, or any stability issues? 🤷🏻‍♂️🫣 The bottom tier would have my Korg Kronos 2 88 which weighs 53lbs the 2nd tier would have a Yamaha Montage 8 which weighs 63lbs the 3rd tier would have a Yamaha Motif ES7 which weighs 42lbs Any help would be be great 😊

Actually.. just read the reviews for the stand and it’s got very negative reviews… here’s what people have said REVIEWS Someone really not clever designed this to be honest , 2 synths on it and with a little push the whole stand will tip over to the back , weigh distribution extremely poorly designed. Avoid! It seems to me that this was messed up in the design phase. As several other reviewers have noted, the center of gravity is too far backwards, and the feet stick out way way too far in the front. I fixed this by flipping the whole thing backwards and using it without the upper tier. Maybe I will try to modify it to install the upper tier flipped to the other side. The feet go far too far forward, creating a painful stumbling block. I put foam heating pipe insulators over my feet... There is also not enough leg/knee room. Conclusion: bad design. Absolutely unsuitable for stage use, conditionally suitable for home and studio use. If it were easier to return from Switzerland, I would send the part back and order the K&M 18810 along with accessories for the second keyboard. The welds are a joke. The upper left bracket on the sprocket has already broken off directly at the welding point (there can be no question of a seam). Luckily I could just hold my ModX, otherwise it would have crashed down. Complaints to Thomann have so far had no response (>2 weeks). Thomann has deteriorated extremely in recent years and is no longer worth it here. had it now about a 3/4 year in use. Two reviews had warned about the feet being too far forward, the rest were so positive that I thought it was fit for purpose. The feet are simply a bad design, the center of gravity is so far back with two keyboards lying on top that it is not obvious why the feet should look so far forward and only a few centimeters beyond the center of gravity at the back. He falls backwards with the slightest touch and nothing can be done about it. Besides, add supports or extend the feet backwards. If none of that matters, then probably ok. But not suitable for professional use and especially on stage.

On-Stage says the overall capacity of that stand is 400 lbs, the second tier is limited to 60 lbs. I don't know that I would attempt to put 42 lbs on the top tier they way it comes - I have a System-8 up there which is 13 lbs, and it's fine. I was paranoid of it tipping over backwards because of the synth on the third tier, so I actually extended the feet out another couple of feet by buying some square tubing to replace them, and drilling it to match the original feet. With that modification, it's rock solid.

Did you bring your own keyboard stand to the gig or was it provided by the venue?

Get a psu for the Fantom that works in Europe?
@ScottsSynthStuff
@ScottsSynthStuff Жыл бұрын
The standard Roland PSU is a switched power supply that will work with voltages from 100V to 240V, 50 or 60 Hz, so it will work pretty much anywhere with the appropriate plug on the end of it.
