When my wife fell pregnant with our daughter. She was given a 1 in 14,000 chance of survival. She was delivered 6 weeks premature by C-section. The odds of her surviving 6 months into the pregnancy was 1 in 6000. This is the reason why I have faith in God. To stand against all those odds and not even have any negative health consequences because of it is unfathomable. Babies are a miracle but she is more than a miracle to me. This song always makes me think of her when I hear it. I love Live. But this song is my favourite.

And you're still just as lost holding them as before them. Jesus said no man can see heaven without being born again. Just because this song is catchy doesn't mean he is born again because he percieves there is a god. Muslims believe in a god and Hindu's believe in millions. So perception is of little consequence. We already know God exists. The Bible says it's in your heart and to not believe is to construct a lie so as to blind yourself. Of course there's no way a star can exist without God. It's common sense. And yet more people don't believe in the God of the Bible that do. You know being spirtual has no bearing on the matter. Jesus said to Nicodemus clearly, unless a man is born again he CANNOT inherit the kingdom of God. If you have to ask yourself if you are then you are not. How do you? I will let you go that journey if you choose. And if you become so, you won't need a sunrise or a daughtet to tell you. The Holy Spirit will live in you and guide you in knowledge and truth.

The part of the song that stand out for editing is the part about I will follow you down any road. Only follow Jesus down any road. Jesus is the ONLY way truth and life. He is the only way to the Father in heaven. Only Jesus is God. Those we love make their own choice. We are to guide our kids but don't make them and idol. Raise them up like arrows so when you release them, they go the right direction. Get spiritual with Jesus. God bless

I loved this song and it seemed to disappear. Throwing copper was maybe the best album I have ever bought, this was on the next album. Thanks for the great music.

Clearly by the lyrics the writer is speaking about how everything great in this world is a clue. His daughter, the sunset, and everything else around him. Everything in our world points towards our creator. That is what the writer is illustrating through this song. Everything around is a clue, a clue to our one true God.

My dad died when my sister was 5, I had to give her away at her wedding, this song came on at the reception and I cried in the bathroom knowing what my father and sister missed out on.

I was listening to this song when i reslised Live was into spirituality. I esp'd that one day i was going to have a daughter. I am infertile, but i did end up having one daughter at the age of 38. I never knew if God existed when I was younger. Now i wonder how people can not believe in God, with all the experiences I am privileged to have had in my years on this planet. (Including going to Heaven in a dream, and experiencing what unconditional love feels like - fricken amazing!!!)

This video is one of the most meaningful depictions of how I feel. I almost feel like it was meant for me, cause that girl looks somewhat like me (only a little younger). She sees a guy across the river (Jesus). He throws a rock across the divide with something he wants "her" to know. They walk/run in sync with eachother and she doesn't take her eyes off of him. (As they follow the river.) He jumps in first: Revelation 22:1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb Then she jumps in after him and they embrace in the river. In the final scene, she puts her rock with the 11 others...making her the 12th.

I have a daughter's. This song resonants with me so much. To me, my daughter is the most beautiful thing in the world. I didn't think it was possible to love someone this much until I felt her in my arms and she fell asleep. I miss you so Much Hailey. I will love you forever.

I don't need no one to tell me about heaven, I look at my daughter (and son) and I believe. Absolute love and beauty. Heaven is energy and it's all around us... *Edit I just watched a magical neon sunset with my daughter. Magic ♥️

Who says I need proof that God exists? Well Ed says it's his daughter and I wonder why. Those that we love most remind us of heaven. Very well done! That's my proof: the people I love are heaven to me.

to all the fathers.. despite your mistakes, little girls love their daddies. I looked mine up after 19 years apart. I asked him to forgive me for all the ugly things I had ever thought, said, and felt about his absence. Didn't want to, but had to, cuz as a christian, i knew about spiritual chains of bondage that form when one holds unforgiveness. I asked him for forgiveness. he responded by breaking down and asking me for mine. love is a mighty thing..

So to start this off, my father and I have a bad relationship, meanwhile he introduced me to live. Ever since then I've been hooked on their music. I even have Ed's personal albums! This song hits me hard every time, it makes me think of my dad and how good of a band live really is. Their music is truly inspiring. I'm not that much of a religious person, but I just can't help my self from listening to live! Their music is pretty inspirational and meaningful. This is the true meaning of music. If you ever need help in a tough situation just sit back, relax, and listen to this song. I've probably done it at least 100 times.

I'm 25 now, and trying to live life, but struggling, me and my Father have also had rocky times for a long long long time now really, my Father introduced me to Live, through the song Lightning crashes, out of coincidence, any similarities? Hope all is well, I am still struggling, and life gets dark and darker, around every turn, but seeing the silver lining and having hope helps :) "If you ever need help in a tough situation just sit back, relax, and listen to this song" Like so indeed. South Africa with blessings.

One of the few songs where the music video adds to the song rather than takes away. One of the most poignant portrayals of the ideas of self-sacrifice and one's relationship with the Almighty, with Heaven, and with each other.

I wrote a book back in 2006 about an orphaned teen that grows up in the dark ages of Ireland that takes place around the Cliffs of Moher. When I saw this video back then, my heart melted because of how it resembled certain aspects of my story. Ten years later, I still find myself revisiting this.

People need to bring back inspirational lyrics like this one instead of singing about wanting to get into someone's pants or breaking up. There are more important things in the world that deserve singing about.
