That guy has a point, Swat is mainly for special operations, In mosts states swat operatives are not and cant pull over a civilian if anything that swat operative is to alert a local LEO and have them do that, Swat is basically a sub division to PD

Swat cant stop a a civilian if they do want to they would have to call in a local officer to take primary and yall can back up that unit.

@@Youronlycai that guy has no point. At the end of the day S.W.A.T operatives are still cops. If I am taking down a warrant suspect and the person is on the move in a car. S.W.A.T is still within their jurisdiction to take down that person. In any kind of stop, whether it is a traffic stop or felony stop. The reason it’s not done more often is because traffic stops are beneath a SWAT team IRL and their focus will be on other more things since there are so few SWAT operatives to cover MAJOR cities. Many of these departments have special teams which are like gang units and jump out boys which operate like a SWAT team but specifically specializes in those aspects. DVRP has neither of those types of units. We are the ONLY specialized team. However, there are 0 policies that outlaw traffic stops from a swat team. We were never stopping them to cite them. They were being stopped and arrested for the charges we already knew and had evidence for. That is for shooting. If y’all paid more attention to the kind of stop we did. It was a felony stop, and not a normal traffic stop. We were already acting off of the fact that these guys committed a FELONY crime, which was “drive by shooting “

@@Youronlycai the S.W.A.T doesn’t have to alert local PD of anything. You are thinking it is a case of another department’s swat team coming over into another jurisdiction to do an operation. That’s not the case within DVRP. The S.W.A.T team in DVRP falls under the Commissioner Office and is made out of members of State Patrol and Metro PD. We don’t have to inform any one of any operations, and everything is within our jurisdiction especially, if these people have been shooting and killing all night like they were.
