Robert and Oliver together might be my favorite pairing of people. I love these two so much and miss Oliver Sacks quite a bit. So grateful for his insightful, thought provoking contributions to this mystery of life. I find it extremely disturbing that this video has only been viewed less than 17,000 times.

I too find Robert Krulwich's treatment of Oliver throughout this interview insulting and offensive. Truly, he did his best to spoil every moment of this interview as much as he possibly could. Oliver's magnanimity overcame it, but why oh why, should Oliver have been subjected to this treatment? Robert Krulwich is an insensitive goon and possibly also an idiot.

+Evelyn Redtree I understand how you might feel and I admit Oliver's facial expressions at times show frustration. But! Oliver and Robert have been friends for years! At the time of this video Oliver was in the late stages of cancer and you can perceive his exhaustion, shortness, and appearing subtly irritated at times due to the illness. Observing that is where I'm guessing you developed the perception of Robert being insincere (Oliver was quite familiar with Robert's personality). This is a tribute, one of several by Robert to share the existence of a great man. I feel Robert Krulwich should have the recognition of treating Oliver no differently than before.

+Evelyn Redtree I agree completely. Something about Robert Krulwich rubs me the wrong way. His tone seems condescending to me, and I feel he is laughing at Dr. Sacks and his idiosyncrasies. Really uncomfortable interview.

The fact that Oliver and Robt. Krulwich had known each other for years (as a result of the "RadioLab" program) does not excuse Krulwich treating Oliver in this way. Throughout this interview, Krulwich is so full of himself that it is sickening to watch.

I agree re: Krulwich. He's endlessly inauthentic, like a caricature of himself. He just feels like someone trying to make a career, pimping 'interesting' people and topics to the cultural elites of NYC. Sacks was a good storyteller, so he milked him for everything he could. I don't get the sense that their 'friendship' was genuine. More like mutually transactional, as they both advanced their careers and brands through each other. That isn't friendship, it's mutual prostitution.

Why does Robert Krulwich sound like he's making fun of Oliver Sacks with every comment and question he makes?? There were some really poignant memories recalled, such as the time Sacks takes a patient for her last wish ride up to Topanga canyon and Krulwich ruins the moment by ridiculing experience. It feels like a roast! Im all for humour but come on! Poor show Robert!! Still, Oliver shines through as the brilliant man he is.

Robert could use some of the good doctor's sensitivity, and not ridicule some of the more precious moments here. Does he seriously think he's being funny??!!
