Great to hear, and no problem at all. To be honest the simplicity of the kit really makes it soo easy. I'm about to add a few other components and test out. Just waiting for the rain to settle down!!

Another great video, this kit looks great, I fitted 2 small cpu fans to the vent on our old van with a 3 way amd made a big difference, we get our new Penguin Outback from Jayco Heatherbrae in 2 wks and this will be the first mod, this kit looks great and all the hard work is done. Love it.

Such an easy mod thanks to your video and the installation instructions provided. I am the worst at wiring but following the simple steps I am now a fully certified auto electrician 😂😂😂, just kidding. Great video. Thanks mate.

As you could probably tell, I was amazed by how well resolved the kit is. I am looking to install a few other components and test these out from 3DPrintRV as well. We may have missed most of the warmer weather this year season however.

They are great. Royce from 3DPrintRV is sending a few other bits to test so stay tuned for some more episodes. I also plan on doing a test to demonstrate how much of a difference these fans really make.

Another awesome video I installed mine to a switch so I can turn them off when van is not in use. Klevacool highly recommend products
@WorkLivePlay
@WorkLivePlay 2 жыл бұрын
I might add one down the track, potentially a twin switch panel to marry in with the 12 volt pump which will be the next major project. I guess the advantage of connecting to the 12v management system (over directly to the batter) is that is does turn off when the van is closed down. It will however remain on stand by when the van is plugged into main power, using the Setec system. I must admit I did have to run out and check lol.

I did our fridge fans a few years ago and I also installed a switch because I wanted full control over when they came on. For example, the night before we go away I have the fridge on with the roof up about 15 or 20 cm to help stop any heat build up and have the fans on as well. I think a switch also comes in handy on those days when the ambient temperature is iffy.
@mattthwaites3924
@mattthwaites3924 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Daron. Can you share an example of the switch you put on? I need to add one - I connected fan direct to fridge as battery is on the other side of the van - however it seems to have continuous 12v power and is constantly on standby (even when isolator switch is off!).

@@WorkLivePlay Hey mate, love all your videos! I tried to wire my 12v water pump directly to one of the spare slots on the setec but it kept blowing the fuse. Jayco Swan. I then realised when I flip my battery switch, all my lights etc keep working (no 240v plugged in). So I assume in this case, it would mean the fans would still stay on? Greatly appreciate your videos, already helped me complete a few mods!

Thanks for the video. Really appreciate the time it takes to edit the video together to help others. I've been looking at these fans for some time, but wasn't sure how easy they are installed. Thanks for showing all the steps. I'm not sure of the zip ties around the outside of the vent fins though - looks a bit rough. I would be interested in how much the fans run in moderate temperatures.
@WorkLivePlay
@WorkLivePlay 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Huzz- late response sorry. Firstly thanks for good words. We are heading up to Kylies beach in a few weeks and I am aiming to do a comparison video of temperatures with and without the fans. In fact I could probably do in our shed as it gets very hot in there. The results should be quite noticeable. Its a great kit - I was on the fence with the zip ties however once installed I think it would be overly complicated to do another way without cutting things up or drilling holes. If there was an alternate solution I'm sure Royce would have implemented. The fans are soo quiet though - its crazy.

Thanks for putting this up. Great video. Can you provide guidance on how to wire when the battery is in the opposite side of the van to the fridge? We have the Jayco Lark.
@WorkLivePlay
@WorkLivePlay 2 жыл бұрын
My best advice would be to follow any existing cabling runs you can find. I would have thought the Lark would have the battery in a similar location to be honest. I've just been through a number of videos and can only guess the J35 is under the dinette seating? Have a look underneath and see if there is a cabling run under the floor. I literally live 500m from Jayco Newcastle so might have to duck down there one day for a squiz now they are back open again.
@mattthwaites3924
@mattthwaites3924 2 жыл бұрын
@@WorkLivePlay Yep. Battery under the dinette. I had a similar thought. There are electrics on both sides so must be a tube under the floor. I’ll climb under and see what I can find - will let you know how I go!

@@WorkLivePlay so it seems if you have an AES fridge there is a 12v power outlet available at back of fridge. This makes sense as the fridge needs a power source when running on gas. This is in the klevacool instructions.

I did this DIY for $22 with usb powered fan and a usb power adapter. They're just PC fans, you don't need a kit.
@WorkLivePlay
@WorkLivePlay 10 ай бұрын
You certainly can do it more DIY however I like the idea of the kit as it's a lot simpler, especially for people who watch who aren't as handy. Royce has put a lot of work into integrating the temp control PCB etc so it just works. I do also really like how the mounts are integrated for each vent type. It's still working well for us 👍

what happens when it gets wet, is this something we need to look out for?. washing the rv or when its raining.

Just put our order in for a touring Swan. We haven't gone for the battery setup yet as we will be in parks all the time. Can this be done without a battery setup? Is there a 12v system built into the van I can plug this into?

What benefit does the fan provide? I imagine the fridge requires less fuel/electricity to operate. How much less? Do you have any data?

If these are 3D printed (and I love 3D printing), will UV exposure become a problem with plastic degradation?
@WorkLivePlay
@WorkLivePlay 10 ай бұрын
Royce from 3D Print RV has been through a whole process with filaments and plastics. He is certainly the one to talk to regarding this however I haven't noticed any degradation this far. He is very particular with what he uses, he did explain it a bit when I first saw the external light, in that instance, his extension is fully exposed.

Have Dometic series 7. RM7655L Have mounted fans myself, but usual setting to cool down to 50°C for this fridge does not work. I am observing it and experimenting and it works around 65°Celsius (this the temp of the upper pipe at its hottest area). Still not able to nail it. Anybody has experience to share how to set this device please ? It is above 32°C outside and fridge is struggling.

Have you contacted Royce over at 3DprintRV, he is extremely helpful and knows these inside and out being the creator, manufacturer and distributor of these fan kits. He will be more than happy to have a chat to you about it. We haven't had to adjust ours at all, however in saying that we are in a mildish climate here.

Do these fans not course negative pressure and suck the exhaust gases out of the open flue at the bottom where the flame is. Then into the caravan. This will escape from around the front of the fridge into the living area. Beware Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
