As a foreigner living in Japan, i feel this poem, this letter, his emotions, and mine. Recently, I lost my wife due to her health. She loved Suzuki san, we used to listen together and automatically transport us to the times when we just came here to make a new life. Now lonely, this song especially is a knife to my heart, and i can't hold my tears. Thanks, Suzuki, wherever you are.

even by today its mindblowing for me this isnt an original, but an re-written/cover song
A few weeks ago I finished watching "Midnight Diner". I was totally immersed in the series, even though I am not Japanese. Being in that Cozy tiny diner with the family type atmosphere and faces and personalities that became so familiar with time, was so warm and intimate, it was almost like being in a womb. Needless to say I love Suzuki's song - the sound track of this amazing Netflix series. May you rest in peace talented Mr. Suzuki 🙏
Midnight Diner took me here. Thank you for such a beautiful song! RIP

Like many I came across this song and the Master through Midnight Diner, But I had been contemplating about aspectes of Japanese aesthetics and philosophy when I chanced upon the hit TV show, What a perfect harmony of the song and the stories were achived! Life is about learning to embrace imperfections and still appreciate the offering. May we all learn to do just that!

If this artist only ever released this single evocative song; that to me would be enough to list him in the Pantheon of Great singer of traditional folk songs... You don’t need to be a native speaker to understand the emotion, feelings and aching love that are infused in this beautiful song. In a different but similar way, one is equally entranced by Karen Matheson the Scottish vocalist who sings in the native Scots language of Gaelic. There is no doubt at all that both sing from a very deep and soulful connection to the subject matter. P.S. a friend said he was disappointed because he compared the live performance to the polished studio recording that accompanies the marvellous ‘Netflix Series’ (yes I’m aware that it exists outside of Netflix) Midnight Diner. (for the record I called him a philistine) NB, If you have yet too discover the unparalleled feeling of joyful satisfaction that washes over you after each episode, let me urge you to sell your worldly goods, even your granny and take out a Netflix subscription, twill be worth it for just this show, with the added bonus of hearing the late Suzuki Tsunekichi opening every episode. My Sincere Thanks Sir For The Upload.
