I’ve started putting flavoured pellet oil on my meat stops it floating, and gives it a bit of a smell too

You can pump meat in a pellet pump, this makes it sink. I do like my meat to sink slow though,so I put up with it🙂.

You think meat sinks to the bottom? Don't take that as it seems, I have done many checks with different brands at different times of year. Some meat finds it's buoyancy at 2 or 3 foot down unless some fat is taken out by soaking in water, rinsing with hot water or adding something to make it heavier.

Interesting, have you tried pumping it? That seems to make it sink well.

@@AverageAngler no I haven't, not sure I even have a working pump. I've figured out what prep is needed for scenarios and conditions etc. My rule of thumb is cooler and/or deeper the water the more effort to remove fat and firm up the meat or add weight like liquids or coatings. My caveat being I try to use/feed in groundbait when I haven't bothered with prep.
