Ey up mate, well done on the 2nd. Love Harthill Res, caught my first ever fish there in 1976 lol. Harthill has loads of potential if Canal & Rivers trust invests in angling at the place, could very easily become THE place to go for big reservoir match fishing. I do the morning bailiff duties there a few days a week if you want any up to date information😉👍👍

I know it is adding to tackle, but I have 2 landing nets for such situations because, as you rightly mention, if the net is too small or too large, you have problems. BTW really enjoying the videos despite living in USA.

alan thankyou ive still got loads of vids to watch im in shropshire but i watch your vids before i go fishing in a comp ive only been back 2 years i was a mighty fisherman when i was 12 river pools canals nothing was a challenge im 52 now and back in the game with my 78 year old dad a mighty fisherman what happens when the fish wants to go further than where your clipped do you unclip it by hand

Wow !! Those were some mighty fish, I think you could have got the bigger fish in quicker with a larger landing net, so maybe take 2 sizes depending on the fish, only problem where would you place it on your platform ??

The water levels look low: are they lower than traditional levels or just lower than the highs after the modern rains? Do the water levels affect your methods? I'm no expert, so thinking a 4ft water level is a massive volume of water on the reservoir and so maybe things are different? Sorry for so many questions, lol!

Hi Sergio yes water levels were very low indeed so no margins fish can push out further and can change the way you fish 👍😀🐒🎣
