LIVE MIXING SESSION from ZERO to ROUGHMIX in 55 mins with Stephan Oberhoff

Hey everyone and thanks for stopping by my channel!
I thought it might be beneficial for you to sit with me as I open up a brand new recording session which was recorded in "pandemic circumstances", meaning it was loaded with plenty of inherent challenges stemming from the source recordings of the extremely beautiful performance.
Together, we will find some immediate remedies - and we'll be also 'hitting the wall' with more than a few plugins ;)
My client is the brilliant young artist Pedro Iaco, who frequently tours and collaborates with the most outstanding Brazilian composer, guitarists and singers, Guinga. Here he sings one of Guinga's more recent compositions, "Meu Pai" ("My Father")
The guitar was performed in another location by the great guitarist Bruno Conde.

If you are a beginner, you will unlikely be able to find 'neurotic' and difficult to contain frequencies as quick as I now can - but please remember, I have about 30 years behind me as a studio mixer.
Ear breaks and comparison to similar, well equalized recordings are a must!
Conversely, if you are a pro mixing engineer, you may be twice as fast as I am - in any case, I believe though that you will feel and agree with a lot of the things that work in my process - and notice what doesn't !
Around 45 mins you can preview the pre-mix result, however, I invite you to stay the whole ride as the source material was recorded under less than ideal circumstances - yet somehow it found it's own glue, it's own sonic story, if you will!

@@siddhantpetkar9728 Oh my friend don't worry - the only reason why I haven't posted more in the last few weeks is that I am under deadline, delivering a big animation project for Universal. There is so much I would like to cover: Recording and stacking vocals, adding saturation to mixes and giving them character, ethnic feels and how we can learn to put them into our productions and veer away from the nasty, rigid math of our current quantization grids....etc. Hope you are well and staying creative !
