It's funny, but even in the middle of the night, there are about 4k people watching. Of course, there are people all over the globe who tune in. People in the UK, Canada, Spain, Australia, and more are fascinated by our eagles. It's very sweet and really amazing! 🥚🥚🥚🦅🦅❤

How awesome... FOBBV getting the love they deserve. Jackie and Shadow have been my "go to" pair for four years. The work that goes into keeping the cams up and running year round is so impressive. This year is special as Jackie had a full clutch of three eggs for the first time. I really hope we have some little eaglets to watch grow over the next several months. PIP watch starts Feb 29th! I like when they feed the newly hatched birds. These large birds delicately feeding the slightly uncoordinated eaglets is a wonder. Classrooms are watching as well and the moderators for this nest are knowledgable and many people have learned quite a bit along with being entertained. Because they are no humans, they are made for this conitions, they ARE the shelter. Most of BAEA live in Alaska! 🦅

The tree has a natural canopy above the nest. Eagles select their nest tree due to height, views, and access in and out. The tree is a 150 ft. Jeffrey Pine and is the tallest tree in the area. It gets checked annually for camera maintenance and is deemed healthy. It has sustained wind gusts of 80 mph. I trust the eagles to know the best tree for their use over us humans who seem to mess up everything we touch. Eagles have 7000 waterproof feathers over a layer of down, and their core body temp is 106. They are most populous in Alaska and well suited for cold climates.
