आज भारत बंद है. एससी-एसटी आरक्षण में क्रीमीलेयर पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले के खिलाफ आज यानी 21 अगस्त को भारत बंद का ऐलान है. देशभर के दलित और आदिवासी संगठन हाशिए पर पड़े समुदायों के लिए मजबूत प्रतिनिधित्व और सुरक्षा की मांग को लेकर आज 21 अगस्त को ‘भारत बंद’ करेंगे. ‘नेशनल कॉन्फेडरेशन ऑफ दलित एंड आदिवासी ऑर्गेनाइजेशन्स’ (एनएसीडीएओआर) ने मांगों की एक सूची जारी की है, जिसमें अनुसूचित जातियों (एससी), अनुसूचित जनजातियों (एसटी) और अन्य पिछड़े वर्गों (ओबीसी) के लिए न्याय और समानता की मांग शामिल हैं.
कोलकाता के आरजी कर हॉस्पिटल में लेडी डॉक्टर की रेप के बाद हत्या के बाद से कॉलेज की मंगलवार को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में सीजेआई चंद्रचूड़ की बेंच सुनवाई कर रही है. उन्होंने डॉक्टरों की सुरक्षा को लेकर चिता जताई है. कोलकाता में ट्रेनी महिला डॉक्टर से रेप और हत्या के बाद आरजी कर अस्पताल की कई गड़बड़ियां सामने आई है. पीड़िता के पिता के बाद हॉस्पिटल के अब जूनियर रेजिडेंट भी पूर्व प्रिंसिपल और कॉलेज प्रशासन पर दबाव की आवाज ऊंची करने लगे.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday began hearing a petition regarding the alleged rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata earlier this month. A bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, which took notice of the incident, has placed the case at the top of the agenda for hearing on Tuesday. The CBI has also got a high court nod to run a polygraph test on the accused, a civic volunteer. The CBI officers will also question the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday in connection with the case.
