Dude, this movie is really cool, I’m not gonna lie. The shortness of it was artistic. There were moments where you kinda think “that coulda been illustrated or explained more” but I think the art in this movie is in how much you have to think, how much you have to feel, and even how much you have to guess at how the character’s feel. The sentiment of someone living without one parent their whole life is hard enough, but at any given time no matter what, Nola only ever had one parent. And it sucks. She had both the dynamic of not having a parent, and the dynamic of a parent being fully alive, but not truly wanting her. (Lol I’m just going from tough thing to tough thing, I came off of last of us 2 the video game, and that was a heart wrencher as well. 2020 is not letting up in any aspect)
